Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Lazie Pitre Cheramie, 86, a native and resident of Galliano who died at 11 a.m. Tuesday (7 April 1992). Visitation will continue until Funeral time at the church with Interment in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. She was the mother of Jane, Gelpi, Joseph and Louis Cheramie, Rita Guidry and Delis Gulotta; step mother of Rose Cheramie. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cheramie; and parents, Emma Gisclair and Eugene Pitre. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

2011. He is survived by one son, Timmy Pitre; five daughters,
Gail Rogers and husband, Larry, Kathy Varnum and husband, Earl, Karen Rogers and
husband, Johnny, Corena Ledet and husband, Jerry, and Patty Lefort and husband,
David; one half-brother, Joseph Cheramie; three half-sisters, Jane
Cheramie, Rita Guidry and Delta Guillory; 15 grandchildren; 25
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Louis Pitre Sr. and Lazy C. Pitre; and
half-brother, Gelpi "Blue" Cheramie. Falgout Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
