Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 22 January 1975:  Lester M. Pitre Sr., at New Orleans, La., on Monday, January 20, 1975 at 6 o'clock p.m.  Beloved husband of Earline Bourgeois Pitre. Father of Lester Pitre Jr., Mrs. Gwendolyn Cheramie, and Mrs. Sandra Stahler.  Brother of Wilson, Nero and Loulan Pitre, Mrs. Camellia Terrebonne;, Mrs. Euna Green and Mrs. Vesta Suer.  Also survived by 5 grandchildren.  Age 52 years.  A native and resident of Cutoff, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also members of VFW Post 8538, are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Falgout Funeral Home Inc., Galliano, La., on Wednesday, January 22, 1975 at 1:30 p.m.  Religious services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cutoff, La., at 2 o'clock p.m.  Interment in Sacred Heart Mausoleum.  Please omit flowers.  Donations to Heart Fund preferred.  Falgout Funeral Home in charge.

Obituary:  13 June 2006:  Earline Bourgeois Pitre, 80, a native of Cut Off and resident of Thibodaux, died at 10:22 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.  Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.  She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Pitre Cheramie and Sandra Pitre; one brother, Leon Bourgeois Jr.; one sister, Doris Kiffe; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Michael Pitre Sr.; her parents, Leon Bourgeois Sr. and Martha Pitre Bourgeois; one son, Lester Michael Pitre Jr.; and one sister, Lillian B. Brunet.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Lafourche Heritage Society, South Lafourche Genealogy Club, Sacred Heart Ladies Altar Society, a Scouting volunteer and a member of the Larose Cut Off Band Booster and PTA.  She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
