Obituary:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Friday, 17 November 1961:  Louis Joseph Pitre - Died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at residence in Erwinville.  Age 44, native of Lafourche Parish.  Body to be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen until 1 p.m. Saturday.  Funeral will be held at Church of the Immaculate Conception in Lakeland Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Henry Neubig.  Burial to be in Chenal Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Hazel Gauthier; one daughter, Miss Madeline Pitre of Erwinville; three sisters, three brothers and two step-sons, Norris Deville of Baton Rouge and Leonce Deville of Port Barre.

Obituary:  The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Saturday, 3 January 1987:  Hazel Gauthier Pitre, 78, died 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 1987, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge.  She was 78, a native of Ventress, a former resident of Erwinville, and resident of Baton Rouge.  Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, 8 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.  Religious services at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Duhe.  Burial in Chenal Cemetery, Jarreau.  Survived by a daughter, Madeline Pitre, Baton Rouge; two sons, Leonce Deville, Port Barre, and Norris Deville, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Gertrude McCoy, Leona Devall and Mary Belle Webre, all of Erwinville, and Mazie Gauthier, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
