Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 6 March 1987:  Lawtell - Funeral services for Walter 'T-Nok' Pitre, 77, were to be held at 2 p.m. today in St. Bridget Roman Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a retired worker with the Louisiana Department of Highways, was a native of Lawtell and a resident of Opelousas for the past two years.  He died Thursday at 8:45 a.m. in Opelousas General Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Survivors include his wife, the former Elta Brisco of Opelousas; a step-son, Austin Ray Dupre Jr., of Opelousas; a daughter, Mrs. Lourey Soileau of Lawtell; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  The Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main Street in Opelousas is directing.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 2 June 1970:  Lawtell - Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Pitre, 57, of Lawtell, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, the former Marie Manuel, died at 5:15 a.m. today at Opelousas General Hospital.  Her body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Opelousas, where the rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.  Mrs. Pitre is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Soileau of Lawtell; three brothers, Anzley and Manny Manuel, both of Port Neches, Tex., and Wesley Manuel of Mamou; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Fontenot of Chataignier and Mrs. Tonis Aucoin of Mamou; and five grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 18 October 1992:  Church Point - Funeral services for Mrs. Elta Briscoe Pitre, 74, will be held 2 p.m. today at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel here, with burial at Prairie Ronde Baptist Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Church Point, died 4 p.m. Friday at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital.  Survivors include: one son, Austin Dupre of Lafayette; one daughter, Bonnie Briscoe of Sulphur; one brother, Shelery Briscoe of Gonzales; four sisters, Irene Jeanise and Rena Labbie of Church Point, Rita Fontenot of Denham Springs, and Verdie Briscoe of Church Point; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  The funeral home will be open from 8 a.m. until time of services today.  Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of arrangements.

Lourey Pitre:  Lourey Pitre Soileau, December 29, 1934 - January 13, 2019:  Lawtell - Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 for Lourey Pitre Soileau at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell.  The Reverend Father Ted Broussard will officiate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery.  Lourey Pitre Soileau, age 84 and a resident of Lawtell, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home.  Lourey was a member of the Homemakers Club of Lawtell, Red Hat Society of Lawtell and the St. Bridget Church Choir.  She was a devout Catholic and was very strong in her faith.  Lourey loved reading her kindle, taking pictures, drinking coffee and spending time with her family and friends.  Lourey enjoyed traveling with Good Time Tours for over 15 years.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  She is survived by her son, Brent Soileau of Lawtell; daughters, Francine Poole (Hoyet) of Opelousas and Stephanie Hayes of Port Barre; son-in-law, David Lejeune; grandchildren, Jeremy Lejeune (Lacie), Brandon Lejeune (Lacy), Michael Joubert, Tyler Joubert, Aaron Joubert and Stephen Joubert; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Soileau; parents, Walter Pitre and Nannie Manuel Pitre; and daughters, Karen Soileau Lejeune and Jessica Soileau Lalonde.  Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening by Father Austin Leger.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Lejeune, Brandon Lejeune, Michael Joubert, Tyler Joubert, Aaron Joubert and Stephen Joubert.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Kamron Lejeune.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
