Death: The Guardian (Charlottetown, PEI), Monday, 29 September 1947: Petitcodiac, N.B. - Sept. 28 - (summary) Three men perished in the flaming wreckage of a car near Petitcodiac Saturday night and a fourth died enroute to hospital. The major accident occurred two miles west of this village after a car plunged off the road at a sharp turn, broke off a telephone pole, overturned several times and burst into flames. The dead, all residents of East Collette, between Rogersville and Newcastle in Northumberland County, were Edward Pitre, 23; his father, Joseph Pitre, 61; Alphonse Doucette, 20, and the driver, Leo Doucette, 27. The first three perished in the flames, Leo Doucette was found naked on the roadside with all his clothing burned away. He died in an ambulance. As there were no survivors and no witnesses, no inquest will be held. All the victims had been proceeding to Saint John to visit Leo Doucette's wife, who lives in that city.

Felix Pitre: Sentinel & Enterprise (Fitchburg, MA), Wednesday, 12 December 2018: Westminster - J. Felix Pitre, 96, of Westminster, died Saturday, December 8, in his home with his family by his side. Felix was born February 24, 1922, in Rogersville, New Brunswick, son of the late Joseph and Priscilla Pitre. Felix worked as a truck driver, was a lumberjack, and an extruder operator. He was a foreman at the former Kell Plastics in Leominster. Felix enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid outdoorsman. He leaves two son's, Edgar Pitre and his wife, Susan with whom he lived, and Armand Pitre and his wife, Soila of Ashby. He leaves seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Felix was predeceased by his wife of seventy six years, Alma M. (Doucette) on July 11, 2018. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Edgar and Edward Pitre, and one sister, Beatrice Gallant. Felix's family would like to thank the Beacon Hospice staff, especially Joanne Fitch, for all the care they provided. Pitre - Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 13, from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 at Simard Funeral Home, Leominster. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Felix's name to Beacon Hospice, Leominster, MA. Simard Funeral Home, Leominster, MA is assisting with arrangements.
Beatrice Pitre: Times & Transcript, 16 February 2009: Collette - Peacefully with her family by her side, Beatrice Gallant, 82, wife of the late Joseph C. Gallant of Collette, passed away on Friday, February 13th, 2009, at the Miramichi Hospital. Born July 17th, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Priscilla Pitre. She leaves to mourn her loving family; her daughters: Irene Reid (John) of Dieppe, Gladys Gallant (Lucien Black) of Collette, Shirley Leger (Donald) of Acadie Siding, Joan Gallant of Fredericton; her sons: Alyre (Lilianne) Gallant of Moncton, Eddy (Ella) Gallant of Dieppe, Roy (Linda) Gallant of Irishtown, Warren (Diane Babin) Gallant of Dieppe; her brother, Felix (Alma) Pitre of Leominster Mass., USA; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Eddy and Edgar Pitre. Visiting hours: Monday, February 16th, from 2pm to 4pm, and from 7pm to 9pm, and Tuesday, February 17th, from 1pm until the departure for the funeral. The family is now receiving visitors at the salon 'La Colombe' 11325 Route 126, in Rogersville. The funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-Fatima RC Church of Collette, on Tuesday, February, 17th, at 3:00 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Losier and the nurses of the palliative care unit at the Miramichi Hospital. In Beatrice's memory, a donation to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
