Obituary:  The Daily Item (Lynn, MA), Wednesday, 20 October 1982:  Swampscott - Mrs. Madeline E. Peters, 76, 58 Pleasant St., formerly of Middleton, died early today in Union Hospital after a lengthy illness.  She was the widow of Joseph P. Peters who died in 1959.  Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Long) Vaillencour.  She resided in Middleton for 25 years before moving to Malden and more recently to Swampscott.  Mrs. Peters was a former active member of St. Agnes Church of Middleton and also a member of the Middleton Grange.  She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Justine E. DiMauro of Swampscott, with whom she resided; a son, Paul J. Peters of Middleton; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle McCormac of Lynn, and Mrs. Josephine Spaid of Lewisburg, Pa.; two brothers, Ernest Vaillencour of Hyde Park, and Frank Moffett of Dedham and five grandchildren.  A mass will be held in St. Agnes Church, Boston Street, Middleton, Friday at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.  Arrangements have been made by the Peterson Funeral Home, Danvers.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Paul Joseph Peters:  On February 19, 1984, Officer Paul J. Peters, 49 years old and a 11-year-veteran of the Middleton Police Department, was called back to the station for a special assignment.  As he traveled West on Route 114 in his own motor vehicle, in the vicinity of 56 North Main Street he crossed the roadway, drove up an embankment and overturned.  He was rushed to Hunt memorial Hospital in Danvers where he was pronounced DOA.  Cause of death was a heart attack.  Officer Peters is survived by his wife Alice, a son, Eugene, age 21, and two daughters, Rose, age 19 and Dawn, age 16.
