Joseph Philippe Pitre:  Georges Fournier & Sons Funeral Homes (Amqui, QUE):  Joseph Pitre, 19 Mar 1927 – 10 May 2017:  At the Amqui hospital, on May 10, 2017, at the age of 90 years and 2 months, passed away Mr. Joseph Pitre, husband of the late Mrs. Laurette Demeules.  He lived in Amqui and formerly in Albertville.  He was the son of the late Mr. Philippe Pitre and the late Mrs. Georgianna Richard.  Monsieur Pitre was a being who loved people.  The author Jules Desmarais has already written: "to be sociable is to go unnoticed, while being noticed by everyone", Mr. Pitre was very humbly, one of those.  Although he was of a discreet temperament, he got involved with rigor and gave his time for the organizations of the region such as among others: the Societe d'exploitation des ressources de la Vallee (SERV) without counting his involvement for Operation Dignity, a movement that became the protector of the survival of the municipalities of the region in the 70s.  He loved his job as a farmer, knowing how to honor all his merits.  The preservation of forests was also one of his major concerns.  He welcomed his father under his roof for twenty years, he who had a deep sense of family.  He knew how to find all the happiness and blessings of the moments spent in the company of his family.  He took little time to pack his bags to visit his Laurette and all those he missed in the firmament.  It is by remaining eternally faithful to his memory that his loved ones will be able to find, over time, the path to healing.  Monsieur Pitre leaves to mourn, their children: Rejean (Carmelle), Bernhard (Julie), Adrian (Solange), Gilles (Veronica).  Preceded him, his son Gilbert.  He also leaves to mourn, his grandchildren:  Joanie, Stephanie, Alexandre, Etienne, Guillaume, Pierre-Luc, Marc-Antoine, Huriel, Eleonore; his great-grandchildren: Melodie, Juliette, Julien, Felix, Romy, Simone; his brother: Leopold (Ghislaine Legendre); his sister: Rosalie (Adelard Arsenault); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Pitre and Demeules families; his nephews and nieces, his cousins and cousins, as well as many relatives and friends.  The family will receive condolences at the Family Memorial House Fournier, Amqui, Thursday, May 18, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  The commemorative celebration will take place in the Amqui church on Friday, May 19, at 3 p.m. Friday, the day of the celebration, the Memorial House will open from 1 p.m.  Interment will be in Albertville Cemetery.  Those who wish can send expressions of sympathy or make a donation to the Fondation Action Sante de la Matapedia, through the hostess at the salon.

Georgette Rita Pitre:  15 Sep 1928 – 29 Dec 2016:  At the Vallee des Roseaux in Baie-Comeau, on December 29, 2016, at the age of 88 years and 3 months, passed away Mrs. Rita Pitre, wife of the late Mr. Francois Roy.  She lived in Baie-Comeau and formerly in Ste-Irene.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. Philippe Pitre and the late Mrs. Georgiana Richard.  Madame Pitre was a present mother who passed on beautiful values to her children.  She worried as soon as one of them was sick or they had to travel on the roads, especially when the weather was not favourable.  She was a faithful accomplice for her husband Francois who made furniture and other wooden items, it was she who came to lend him a hand to put the finishing touches on his creations.  She was also an extraordinary support for the execution of the work of the family farm.  She left her loved ones, guided to paradise by the song of the angels with whom she will continue to watch over all her loved ones.  Madame Pitre leaves to mourn, their children; Georgette, Claudette (Jacques), Denis (Lorraine), Janet, Michel (Ghislaine), Peter (Ginette), Gaetan (Johanne), her 13 grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren, her brothers and her sister; Joseph, Leopold (Ghislaine), Rosalie (Adelard), her brother-in-law Clement Roy.  She also leaves to mourn her nephews and nieces, her cousins and many relatives and friends.  The family will receive condolences at the Family Memorial House, Amqui Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  The commemorative celebration will take place in the church of Amqui on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.  On Wednesday, the day of the celebration, the Memorial House will open at 9 a.m.  After the commemorative celebration, the cremation will take place at the Crematorium de l'est de Sayabec and Madame Pitre's ashes will be placed in the Amqui Memory Garden columbarium.  Those who wish can send expressions of sympathy or make a donation to the Vallee des Roseaux de Baie-Comeau through the hostess at the salon.
