MISC:  Le Messager (Lewiston, Androscoggin, ME), 12 June 1894:  Westbury - Last May 16, a 30x40 foot barn belonging to Mr. Philippe Lepitre was destroyed by a fire.  A considerable quantity of hay and farming tools that were in this barn were also consumed.  The fire was spread by sparks carried by the wind from a tree that was burning at the neighbor's place.  Mr. Lepitre's house also suffered fairly considerable damage, but after much effort, it was managed to preserve it from destruction.  Mr. Lepitre had no insurance.

Zoel Napoleon Lepitre:  La Tribune (Sherbrooke, QUE), Tuesday, 3 September 1985:  (photo)  At his residence, August 31, 1985, Mr. Zoel Lepitre passed away, age 93 years, residing at 40 St. Francois, East Angus.  His mortal remains are at the Brien & Monfette Funeral Home, East Angus.  Visiting hours 2pm - 4pm and 7pm -10pm.  Day of the funeral 8:30am until departure at 9:45.  Funeral Tuesday, September 3, 1985 at 10am, at St. Louis de France church in East Angus.  Burial in the East Angus cemetery.  The deceased leaves a sister, Mrs. Adelard Roy, nephews, nieces, plus other relatives and friends.

 

Joseph Rosario Lepitre:  La Tribune (Sherbrooke, QUE), Monday, 15 November 1920:  Mr. Rosario Lepitre, who was the victim of a tragic accident in East Angus last Friday, when he had one leg partially amputated by a circular saw, died at the St. Vincent de Paul General Hospital at 10 o'clock last Thursday.  The body is currently at the morgue where the coroner held an inquiry this morning at 10 o'clock.  The verdict declared the cause of death accidental.  The remains of the deceased will be transported to East Angus, where he resided, this afternoon.

 

Joseph Emmanuel Lepitre:  La Tribune (Sherbrooke, QUE), Thursday, 26 June 1941:  East Angus - In recent days, the funeral of Mr. Emmanuel Lepitre, spouse of Marie Rose Lepitre, took place in our church.  He passed away at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Sherbrooke at the age of 37.  The body was laid out by Father Rene Favreau, who also sang the service.  The pallbearers were: Messrs. Rene Martineau, Alphonse Lepitre, Oliva Champagne, Adelard Roy.  The collection was conducted by Messrs. Rene Martineau and Alphonse Lepitre.  The deceased is survived, besides his spouse, by three sisters: Mrs. Philippe Berube (Emma), of Magog, Mrs. Georges Clement (Marie Anne), of Ascot Corner, Mrs. Adelard Roy (Leda), of East Angus; two brothers: Messrs. Zoel and Louis Lepitre; his brothers-in-law:  Mr. Philippe Berube, Georges Clement, and Adelard Roy.  Among the attendees were noticed: Mr. and Mrs. Philippe Berube of Magog, Georges Clement, Adelard Roy, Messrs. Zoel Lepitre, Alfred Lepitre, Misses Rollande and Francoise Lepitre, Mr. and Mrs. Rene Lepitre, Mrs. Ephrem Morin of Magog, Francoise, Gerard, and Bertrand Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Hercule Fortin, Mrs. Albert Brault, Messrs. and Mesdames Joseph Frechette, Ovila Labrecque, Clara Fortin, Therese Fortin, Mesdames Wilfrid Robidas, Alfred Martin, Philippe Boisvert, Theodore Laflotte, Joseph Fredette, Alfred Pratte, Agenor Gagne, Miss Simonne Gagne, Messrs. Louis Souci, S. Foster, Adelard Gagne, and several others.  The deceased was buried in the parish cemetery.
