Obituary: Montreal Journal (QUE), 19 January 2003: Pitre, Laurette (nee Desmarais), 1914 - 2003: Pitre, Laurette (née Desmarais), 1914 - 2003: Of Brossard, formerly of Montreal, 18 January 2003, at the age of 88 years, passed away Mrs. Laurette Desmarais, wife of the late Charlemagne Pitre. She is survived by her children, late Micheline (Herve), Huguette (Rene), Monique (Roland), Marcel (Marina), Claude (Lucille), Nicole (Raoul) and Rene (Sylvie), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Nilida Desmarais Gauthier, her sister-in-law Jeannette Desmarais also other relatives and friends. Exhibited at Maison Darche, Chambly. The funeral will be celebrated Monday, January 20 at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph church of Chambly, and then to the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery. Visiting hours: Sunday 19 January from 7-10 p.m. and Monday starting at 9 a.m. Donations to Vigi-Brossard volunteers would be appreciated.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sylvie (Claude), grandchildren, Sebastien and Philippe, her mother, Madame Laurette Pitre (Desmarais), her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Viewing at: La Maison Darche, Chambly. The funeral will be celebrated Monday 21 August at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph church, Chambly and then to the cemetery Jardins Laurentides, for burial. Visiting hours: Saturday 7-10 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. and Monday at 11 a.m. Donations to the Foundation of the Haut-Richelieu hospital would be appreciated.
