Obituary:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Friday, 16 March 1973:  (photo) Joseph Peters, 67, of 110 Howe St., Lewiston, died Thursday afternoon at his home after a long illness.  He was born at Odahna, Wis., Oct. 11, 1905, the son of Joseph and Catherine Boudreau Peters, and had resided in Lewiston the past 21 years.  Mr. Peters was a retired auto body repair man.  He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church.  Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel Pelletier of Lewiston; four daughters, Mrs. Hamel (Bernadette) Caron of Caribou, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Henley of New Haven, Ind., Mrs. Laurier (Marie) Boucher of Auburn and Mrs. Richard (Rose) Denslow of Ashland, Ohio; three sons, Normand and Nelson, both of Auburn and Benton of Lewiston; two sisters, Mrs. (Evelyn) Long of Norwood, Mass., and Mrs. Laura Pelletier of Caribou; three brothers, Edouard Peters of Colby, Alphonse Peters of Presque Isle and Leo Peters of Caribou; 18 grandchildren.

Obituary:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Friday, 25 September 1998:  Auburn - Mabel Peters, 92, formerly of 89 Walnut St., Lewiston, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, at Clover Manor, where she had resided the past year.  Born at Fort Kent, March 7, 1906, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Michaud Pelletier, she was educated in Fort Kent schools.  Mrs. Peters was married to Joseph Peters in 1926 and he died in 1973.  She was employed many years at Geiger Bros., prior to her retirement in 1985.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Parish and enjoyed dancing.  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Hamel (Bernadette) Caron of Palm Desert, Calif., Dorothy Hanley of Indiana and Mrs. Laurier (Marie) Boucher of Livermore; three sons, Norman and his wife Ruth of Auburn, Nelson of Greene and Benton and his wife Jackie of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Marie Denslow; and a son, Stanley Peters; and also sisters and brothers.

Stanley Peters:  Kennebec Journal (Augusta, ME), Thursday, 26 August 1948:  Fort Kent, Aug. 25 - Stanley Peters, 21, oldest of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peters' eight children, drowned while swimming in Fish River at Fort Kent Mills today.  The youth's body was recovered within 20 minutes, but three hours' resuscitation work by Fort Kent firemen was a failure.  Peters recently had been employed at Biddeford.

 

Bernadette Pitre:  Bangor Daily News (ME), Sunday, 23 February 2014:  Redwood City, Calif. - Bernadette Caron, 85, died Feb. 17, 2014, after a long illness.  She married Hamel R. Caron in Fort Kent, on Aug. 29, 1949.  She and her husband raised their children and lived in Caribou for their working years and then moved to the Palm Springs, Calif., area for their retirement years.  Her longest and most accomplished job was making a home and raising her two children.  In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by her son, Aldon R. Caron of Redwood City, Calif., and his life partner, Maria Tovar; daughter, Paula A. Caron of Grantham, N.H., and her husband, Stephen Looney; and one grandson, Nicholas H. Kierstead of Leadville, Colo.  Services and interment of her ashes will be held at a later date at the VA cemetery in Caribou.

Marie Therese Dorothy Peters:  The Journal Gazette (Fort Wayne, IN), Sunday, 11 November 2012:  Dorothy Hanley, 81, of Fort Wayne passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.  Born in Fort Kent, Maine, she was a homemaker.  She loved flowers and gardening.  She is survived by her daughters, Peg (Jerry) Minick and Barb Abraham both of Fort Wayne; sons, Jeff Hanley of New Albany, Ind. and John (Sherry) Hanley III of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernadette Caron of Calif. and Marie Laurier of Maine; and brothers, Norman, Nelson and Benton Peters all of Maine.  She was preceded in death by her children, Patricia and Michael; parents, Joseph and Mabel Peters; sisters, Rose Denslow; and brother, Stanley Peters.  No Services.  Memorials to National Emphysema Foundation.  Arrangements by D. O. McComb & Sons.

Joseph Normand Peters:  Sun-Journal (Lewiston, ME), Thursday, 29 August 2019:  Auburn – Normand J. Peters gained his wings and left us to see his saviour on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019.  He fought a long and courageous battle with an illness.  He passed peacefully with his loving family by his side.  He was born on May 9, 1935, in Fort Kent, Maine, the proud son of Joseph and Mabel Peters.  He moved to the Lewiston/Auburn area where he married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Deletetsky on Jan. 28, 1961.  Norm served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957-1963.  He settled down in Auburn with Ruth and started a family.  They were happily married for the past 60 years.  Normand worked hard to support his growing family.  He worked at Armand's Body Shop in Lewiston for many years.  From there, he drove semi-trailer trucks until he retired in 2002.  Normand had an affinity for the great outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, camping, but none were greater than his love for fishing.  There was nothing he cherished more than spending time on the water with his family and friends.  He loved to work with his hands, tinkering with all sorts of things around his property and with his vehicles.  Normand is survived by his wife, Ruth; brother, Nelson; sister, Marie Boucher and her husband, Larry; daughter, Lori and her partner, Bob Martin of Auburn; daughter, Debra and her partner, Annette Coulombe of Poland; daughter, Patty of Turner; and son, Michael and his wife, Christina, of California.  He also leaves behind four grandchildren; Shayna Collins, Marlee Collins, Dustin Collins, and Ethan Peters.  Normand was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mabel; brothers, Stanley and Benton; and sisters, Dot, Rose, and Bernadette.  The Peters family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Androscoggin Hospice House for their steadfast care of Normand.  No service or viewing will be held.  In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family requests you send donations to the Androscoggin Hospice House at 236 Stetson Road in Auburn.

Joseph Benton Peters:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Thursday, 2 June 2016:  (photo) Auburn - Benton Peters, 78, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 24, at Clover Manor.  He was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Fort Kent to parents Joseph and Mabel Peters.  Ben enjoyed boating and camping.  He had been employed at Nel's Auto Body.  He was married to Jacqueline Peters.  Ben is survived by his sister, Marie Boucher; his brothers, Norman Peters and Nelson Peters; and his cat, Bebe.  He was predeceased by his wife, 'Jackie'; his parents; and four brothers and sisters.  The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Clover Manor in Auburn for the care and compassion given to Ben during his stay there.

Rose Marie Peters:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Friday, 7 November 1986:  (photo) Mansfield, Ohio - Rose Marie Denslow, 42, of Ashland, formerly of Lewiston, died Tuesday at Mansfield General Hospital after a long illness.  Born in Fort Kent, Sept. 20, 1944, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel Pelletier Peters, she graduated from Lewiston High School in 1963 and from Bernard's School of Hair Fashion in 1965.  While in Lewiston, she was employed at Labadie's Bakery, in the office at Lewiston-Auburn United Grocers and at Provencher's Beauty Salon.  She married Richard L. Denslow, July 15, 1966, in Lewiston.  She moved to Ashland in 1969.  Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Christine, of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Kimberly, of California; a stepson, Richard II, of Ashland; her mother of Lewiston; three sisters, Mrs. Hamel (Bernadette) Caron of Caribou and Palm Desert, Calif., Dorothy Hanley of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Laurier (Marie) Boucher of Livermore; three brothers, Norman and Benton, both of Auburn, and Nelson R. of Greene.  A brother, Stanley, died in July 1948.
