- December 1850, Louisiana Probate Records:  Joseph Pitre & wife Sophie Fontenot - Madame Widow Joseph Pitre - various receipts and promissary notes regarding settlement of the estate, including 6 piastres to Philippe (Andre)pont for a cross and post for "Mrs. Sophie Fontenot, deceased wife of Joseph Pitre" (Plaisance 23 July 1852)

- 7 January 1854, Opelousas Courier:  Napoleon Andrepont has petitioned to be appointed Administrator of the estate of Philip Andrepont and his wife Meline Pitre, both deceased, of St. Landry.

- Saturday, 5 February 1870, Opelousas Journal:  Estate of Dejean Sebastien - Zelmia J. pitre of the parish of St. Landry, Administratrix of the Estate of Dejean Sebastien, deceased, late of the parish of St. Landry, having filed a final tableau of the classification of debts and distribution of funds of said Estate, accompanied by her petition praying for the homologation of the same; And whereas the prayer of said petition has been granted by an oder of court dated January 27, 1870; Now, therefore notice is hereby given to all persons interested to make opposition to said tableau in writing at my office in the town of Opelousas, within the time required by law, why the said tableau should not be homologated and confirmed.  Jos. - 30 November 1878, Opelousas Courier:  Notice – My wife, Zelima Pitre, having left the conjugal domicil, I hereby give notice that I will be responsible for no debts contracted by her on my account.  Octave Richard, 30 Nov 1878 – 1m

- 23 December 1899, Opelousas Courier – A remarkable marriage took place at Tate’s Cove, in this parish, last Tuesday, the 19th, between Mr. Manuel Larose Fontenot, aged 82 years, and Mrs. Elletitice Pitre, aged 69 years.  The groom is the father of eleven children – the youngest being 33 years old.  A large number of the neighbours witnessed the strange ceremony, among whom was our efficient Deputy Sheriff A.L. Fontenot who furnished us with the above facts.
