Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 9 February 1981:  John Eugene Pitre, of Covington, La., on Sunday, February 8, 1981 at 5:45 a.m., beloved husband of the late Norma Duet; father of John, Norris, James, Howard and Rickey Pitre, Mrs. Deloris Hill, Mrs. Jane Constanze, Mrs. Mary Ann Chisesi, Mrs. Rita Scheffman, Mrs. Barbara Neidhardt, Ms. Charlene Pitre, and the late Kermit and Gary Pitre, brother of Morris, Leondis, Mervin, Joseph, Roux Roux, Mrs. Mable Bondillion, Mrs. Marie Andras and the late Mrs. Lucille Hoffman and Mrs. Odille Beniot; also survived by 38 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  From Westside Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Tuesday, February 10, 1981, at 1:30 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Interment in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, La.  Visitation on Monday, February 9, 1981 after 6:00 p.m.

Kermit Joseph Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 3 January 1958 - Of Marrero, La., on Thursday, January 2, 1958, at 12:30 o'clock a.m., Kermit Joseph Pitre, beloved son of Norma Duet and John Pitre; brother of Mrs. Alvin Hill, John Jr., Jean, James, Maryann, Howard, Rita Ann, Barbara Ann and Norris Pitre, aged 22 years; a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Marrero, La., for the past 15 years.  Relatives and friends of the family also employees of E.R. Ludwig Construction Company and Town and Country Heating and Refrigeration Company are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from Westside Funeral Homes, Inc., 230 Monroe street, Gretna, La., on Friday, January 3, 1958, at 9:30 o'clock a.m., followed by services at the Immaculate Conception church, Marrero, La.  Interment in Westwego cemetery.

- Misc.:  New Orleans States (New Orleans, LA), Wednesday, 12 May 1954:  Missing Marrero Boy Is Hunted.  Jefferson parish deputies today were searching for a 19-year-old boy who left home Monday and has not returned.  He is Kermit Pitre, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pitre, 489 Ave. L, Marrero.  Mrs. Pitre told deputies her son has a chroinic illness and she fears he has had an attack.  He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds and has light brown hair, she said.  When last seen, he was wearing a khaki shirt, blue dungarees and brown shoes.

 

Norris James Pitre:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Thursday, 17 May 2007:  Norris J. Pitre Sr. died at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at his home in Amite.  He was 67 and a native of Thibodaux.  Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, on Friday, May 18, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Joe Camilleri.  Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum, Independence.  He is survived by his daughter, Susan Pitre Miller, Amite; three sons, Cleve Pitre, Amite, Nolan Pitre, Kentwood, and Donnie Pitre, Amite; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Cassie and Emma Pitre, and Jason Adams; and three sisters, Delores Hill, Marrero, and Barbara Pitre and Charlene Pitre, both of Covington.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma B. Pitre; and parents, John and Norma Pitre.  Arrangements by McKneely Funeral Home, Amite.

Jane Marie Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 18 August 2013:  Jane Pitre Costanza passed away on August 14, 2013.  She was 72.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph Costanza, Sr.  Mother of Joseph, Jr. (Connie), Phillip (Marie), Charles, Gary (Patricia), David (Jessica), Elizabeth Thomas (Todd), Judy, and the late Anthony (Trudy) and Tommy.  Also survived by 33 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 brothers and sisters.  Preceded in death by her parents, John and Norma Pitre.  She was an extremely loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Westside Leitz-Eagan, Marrero, on Monday Afternoon, August 19, 2013 at 1:00.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 in the morning.  Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna.  The family would like to give a special thank you to granddaughters Jane Foret and Mandy Haley for their loyalty and dedication to their grandmother/friend.

Pitre and Norma Duet Pitre.  Father of James Jr., Heidi, and Shane Pitre, and Jodie Pitre Olivier.  Brother of Barbara Heidhardt, Charlene Jerrell, Rita Schiffman, Jane Constanza, Mary Ann Chisesi, Delores Hill, John, Ricky, Norris, and Howard Pitre and the late Kermit and Gary Pitre.  Grandfather of Amanda, Todd, and Kenny Navarro and Jordan Olivier.  A resident of Marrero, LA for 24 years and a present resident of Covington, LA for the past 12 years.  Relatives and friends of the family also members of American Legion Post 222 and VFW Marrero are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 6, 1996 at 1 o'clock PM.  Interment in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.  Visitation at Westside Funeral Home on Friday evening April 5, 1996 after 6PM until 12 midnight and again on Saturday morning April 6, 1996 after 8:30 AM until service time.
