MISC:  Gouverneur Free Press, Friday, 10 August 1928:  Visits Brother Believed Dead - Moses Pete, Brother of Emery Pete of Gouverneur, Hadn’t Seen Him in 55 Years - Moses Pete of Sterlingville, father of Emery Pete of this village, passed through Gouverneur on Sunday en route to Cornwall, Ont., where he was summoned to see a brother, Emery Pete, whom he has not seen in 55 years nor from whom he had heard in more than 25 years.  Mr. Pete had believed his brother dead.  Members of his family had not been in communication with him in more than a quarter century and long ago it had been accepted fact that Mr. Pete was dead.  On Saturday Moses Pete received a telephone call from his brother, Emery, at Cornwall, asking him to visit him and he immediately made arrangements for his departure.  He is expected to stop in Gouverneur on Tuesday or Wednesday to visit his son, Emery Pete, of this village.
