Joseph Dennis Herard Pitre:  1926 – 2022: Moncton, NB – It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the departure of Mr. Denis Pitre.  An extraordinary, kind and generous man.  Those who were lucky enough to know him will confirm that he touched our hearts forever with his kindness and gentleness.  Mr. Denis Pitre, passed away quietly at the Center Hospitalier Universitaire Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont in Moncton on Friday, April 22, 2022.  He lived in Moncton, but formerly from Eel River Crossing N.-B.  Born February 1, 1926, he now rests with his parents Emanuel Pitre and Christiane Pitre (Nadeau) as well as three sisters, Theresa, Marie, Marcia and three brothers, Fernand, Maurice and Israel.  He is survived by his sister Madelaine of Montreal, one sister-in-law Mea of Saint Jean, one sister-in-law Germaine of Eel River Crossing and several nephews and nieces.  He also leaves behind a circle of special friends.  Respecting Denis' last wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  In his memory, donations can be made to the Center Hospitalier Universitaire Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont in Moncton.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Passage Funeral Cooperative and Cremation Center, Moncton, N.B.

 

Georges Fernand Pitre:  Fernand "Pete" Pitre, April 10, 1930 - June 25, 2019, 89 Years Old:  It is with sadness yet appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Fernand “Pete” J. Pitre, loving husband of Mea (Lecours) Pitre, announces his peaceful passing that occurred on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at his residence.  Born 1930 in Eel River Crossing, NB, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Christine (Nadeau) Pitre.  Pete was employed with CNR in Campbellton and Moncton for over 37 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a talented woodcarver and an avid Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays fan.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  In addition to his loving wife Mea of 66 years, he is survived by his brother Dennis Pitre of Dieppe; sister Madeleine Pitre of Laval, QC; special sister-in-law Nancy Martin of Saint John and numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Maurice and Israel; sisters Therese, Marcia and Marie.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, with visitation being held on Friday June 28, 2019 from 9-11am.  A Funeral Liturgy will follow in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m.  Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
