Misc.:  Boston Daily Record (MA), Monday, 13 August 1956:  50 Years 'Dead' He Meets Kin - Peabody:  A retired Vancouver, B.C., railroader, presumed dead by his family for the past half-century, was reunited last night with three sisters who introduced him to two brothers he had never met.  It was the second reunion for Edward Pitre, 75, within three weeks.  Late in July, he returned to his native St. Alexie, P.Q., Canada, after a 55-year absence and "met" two younger brothers and another sister for the first time, besides another brother he remembered.  Mrs. Georgianna Gallant, 66, 112 Margin st., was host to her long-lost brother; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Gallant, 76, and Mrs. Margaret Gallant, 62, both of Ipswich; brothers, Emil, 54, of Rowley, and Luc, 53, of Drummondsville, P.Q.  At the Canadian get-together, Edward embraced his "kid" brother, Andre, 71; brothers Laurent and Theopile and sister, Agathe, the latter three born after he left home at the age of 19.  Pitre, employed in an assortment of trades during the past 55 years, also learned one brother and three sisters were born and died during his absence.  Further complicating last night's reunion, attended by 75, was the fact that sisters Georgiana and Josephine married two Galant brothers.  Sister Margaret also married a Galant, unrelated to his namesakes.
