Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Joseph "Joe" Pitre, 74, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 25, 2003.  Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Thibodaux Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.  He is survived by his wife, Melodia H. Pitre; sons, Joseph J., Tilman, Jimmy, Davis, Jeffery and Timmy Pitre; stepsons, Shyen, Brian, Wayne and Timothy Hebert; stepdaughters, Caroline Ordoyne, Kathy Hebert and Patty Ledet; 14 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Delaune Pitre; parents, Joseph and Helena Hebert Pitre; daughters, Judy Pitre and Jane Bynum; three brothers; and three sisters.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Thursday, 7 October 1982:  Doris Marie Pitre, 50, a native of Valentine and a resident of Cut Off, died 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (6th) in Galliano.  Visitation will begin 11 a.m. today and remain until funeral time at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Cut Off.  The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will be in the Cheramie Cemetery.  Survivors include her husband, Joseph Pitre Sr.; six sons, Joseph, Tilman, Davis, Jeffery and Timmy Pitre, all of Cut Off and Jimmy Pitre of Galliano; one daughter, Jane Marie Pitre of Cut Off; six brothers, Milton Delaune of Lockport, Wilton, Alton, Elson Jr., Eddie and Nolan Delaune of Cut Off; two sisters, Mildred LeBlanc of Lockport and Audrey Bruce of Cut Off; and nine grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Elson and Blanche Griffin Delaune Sr.; and one daughter, Judy Anne Pitre.  Thibodaux Funeral Home of Cut Off is handling the arrangements.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Friday, 30 January 2009:  Melodia Tabor Hebert Pitre, 79, a native of Choctaw, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, January 28, at 10:22 p.m.  She is survived by her sons, Shyen Hebert and wife Linda, Brian Hebert and wife Mary, Timothy Hebert and wife Marilyn, and Wayne Hebert; daughter, Kathy H. Borne and husband William; brother, Nolan Tabor; sisters, Joyce Tabor, Vergie Glynn, Shirley Farace, Vernice Benoit, Brenda Richard, Rose Mae Rink and Margie Vicknair; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Delaune Hebert; second husband, Joseph Pitre; parents, Edward Tabor and Elodia Sanchez Tabor; daughters, Caroline Ordoyne and Patty Ledet; and brothers, Lloyd, Marcel, Vincent, Joseph and Roland Tabor.  Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel with a religious service to follow.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pitre, 53, a native and resident of Cut Off died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010.  Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Homes in Cut Off.  Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery.  He is survived by five brothers Joseph Pitre, Tilman Pitre, Jimmy Pitre, Jeffrey Pitre and Timmy Pitre.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Doris Delaune Pitre, and two sisters, Jane P. Bynum and Judy A. Pitre.

 

Jane Marie Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Friday, 31 March 2000:  A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off for Jane Pitre Bynum, 41, a native of Raceland and resident of Lockport, who died March 29, 2000.  Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Larose.  She was the wife of Scott Anthony Bynum; daughter of Joseph C. Pitre; mother of Christopher and T. Scott Bynum; and sister of John, Tillman, Jimmy Davis, Jeffery and Timmy Pitre.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Delaune Pitre; and sister, Judy Pitre.  She was a member of Victory Life of Lockport.  Samart Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.

 

Jeffrey Peter Pitre:  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home (LA):  Jeffrey P. Pitre, March 5, 1960 - July 28, 2018:  Jeffrey P. Pitre, 58, a native and resident of Cut Off passed away on July 28, 2018.  Visitation will take place at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.  Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 am to attend a 11:00 am Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off with burial following in the Church cemetery.  Mr. Jeffrey is survived by his companion of 19 years; Sally LeBouef, son; Jason P. Pitre (Kristen Borne Pitre), grandchildren; Justin P. Pitre and Marisa N. Pitre, and brothers; Joseph John Pitre, Tilman Paul Pitre, and Timmy John Pitre.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Doris D. Pitre; mother of his son; Melissa Matherne, brothers, Jimmy Peter Pitre and Davis Paul Pitre, and sisters; Jane Marie Bynum and Judy Ann Pitre.  He enjoyed airplanes, Harley Davidson’s, rc boats, and was a truck driver and chief engineer on tug boats.  He was a dedicated hard-working man who loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off entrusted with arrangements.
