Obituary:  Ogdensburg Advance (NY), Sunday, 20 January 1952:  John Cayen, 48, was found dead Jan. 13, 1952, at his home, 820 Lake St.  Mrs. Cayen had stayed at the home of her son Saturday night and upon calling her husband Sunday morning received no response.  Thinking he had gone to church, she proceeded to go into the apartment through a window and found him dead in bed.  Dr F. E. Clark, city health office, and Dr. R. Stacy, coroner, were called.  An autopsy was performed at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital.  Death was attributed to a heart condition.  Born in Ogdensburg Jan 29, 1903, Mr. Cayen was a son of Joseph Cayen and Fannie Robillard.  He was educated in the local school and was twice married.  His first wife was the former Mabel Mattheson of Brockville, who died in 1927.  They had one daughter (Mary) Mrs. Joseph Woods, Syracuse.  In 1946 he married Amanda Cardinal Heagle in a ceremony performed by the Rt. Rev. Monsignor A. D. Charbonneau at Notre Dame Church.  Mr. Cayen was a sailor on the Great Lakes for many years, a second assistant engineer on the Boland and Cornelins Lines, he resigned because of ill health June, 1950.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.  Surviving besides his daughter and wife are three stepsons, Ernest and Edward Ogdensburg, and Raymond Heagle, Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, Edward Cayen, Ogdensburg; three step-brothers, Moses and George Baker, Syracuse; and Arthur of Ogdensburg; and two step-sisters, Mrs. Lena Larock of Syracuse and Mrs. Arthur Denny of Ogdensburg and three grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 8:30 from the LaLonda Funeral Home and at 9 at Notre Dame Church.  The Rev Robert Giroux celebrated the High Mass of requiem.  Bearers, all members of the Loyal Order of Moose were: Fred Booth, Samuel Huett, Emersun Gagnon, Charles Premo, Reuben Garso and John Wood.  Burial followed m the family plot in Notre Dame cemetery.

Obituary:  Ogdensburg Journal, 2 September 1984:  Amanda Cardinal Renaud - Funeral services for Amanda Cardinal Renaud, 78, Riverview Manor Apartments, Cornwall, Ontario were held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from Notre Dame Church.  Burial was in the Notre Dame Cemetery.  Mrs. Cardinal died Wednesday (August 29, 1984) at the Cornwall General Hospital, Cornwall, Ontario.  Surviving are two sons, Raymond Heagle, Aurora, Utah and Edward Heagle, Cranberry Lake; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one son Ernest; and four brothers, George, Frank, Wilfred and Roy.  Mrs. Renaud was born in Ogdensburg February 16, 1906, daughter of George and Josephine Lesperance Cardinal.  She married Ernest Elgin Heagle February 2, 1924. He died in 1944.  She then married John Cayen March 14, 1946, he is deceased.  Mrs. Renaud later married John Renaud November 9, 1958, he is also deceased.

Mary Ellen Cayen:  The Post Standard (Syracuse, NY), Friday, 6 September 1974:  Mrs. Mary Ellen Cayan Woods, 3382 Stiles Rd., September 4, 1974.  Survived by her husband Joseph F. Woods, eight daughters, Mrs. Cindy Monette, Mrs. Sandra Hall, Mrs. Bonnie Giampepetro, Miss Patricia Woods, Mrs. Deborah Briere, the Misses Kelly, Sally and Holly Woods, six sons, Joseph J., Jesse, Jay, Jeffrey, John and Jody Woods, 12 grandchildren.  Services Saturday 9:15 a.m. Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool 10 a.m. St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville.  Interment Assumption Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday 7 to 9 a.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
