V. Pitre, in Washington, Miss Ophelia Pitre and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lafleur in Opelousas.  Mr. Pitre is connected with the Gulf Oil Co.

 

Obituary:  Beaumont Journal (TX), Friday, 26 September 1958:  John B. Pitre, 63, of Sour Lake, was found dead in his bed early Friday morning.  A physician said he had died of natural causes.  Mr. Pitre was a native of Washington, La., and had lived in Sour Lake for 29 years.  He was an engineer for the Gulf Oil Co.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Estelle Pitre of Sour Lake; two daughters, Mrs. A.J. Bazan and Miss Sue Pitre, both of Sour Lake; one brother, Matt Pitre, Sour Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Leo LaFleur and Miss Elvie Pitre, both of Opelousas, La., and three grandchildren.  Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Broussard Mortuary.

Anna Marie Pitre:  The Beaumont Enterprise (TX), Monday, 8 September 2008:  Anna Marie Bazan, 83, of Sour Lake, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 at North East Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.  She was a native of Wortham and resident of Sour Lake most of her life.  Mrs. Bazan was a 1942 graduate of Sour Lake High School, a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Sour Lake and the Bykota Sunday School Class.  Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Livingston of Sour Lake; son, Anthony Tony Bazan and his wife Sherri of Marion; grandchildren, Jason Kyle Bazan of Racine, Wisconsin, Christopher Bazan of Norwalk, Connecticut, Austin Bazan and his wife Aurelie of San Antonio and James Bazan of Marion; great grandson, Leif Bazan; and many other loving family members.  Her husband, Americo Bazan; and son, Dennis Bazan preceded her in death.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Sour Lake with burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 at the Mortuary.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sour Lake Volunteer Fire Department
