Doris Rita Pitre:  Benner Funeral Services:  Doris Rita Mary LeBlanc, Fort Erie, Ontario, October 7, 1928 - March 18, 2021:  It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our sweet mother and Memere, Doris LeBlanc (nee Pitre) on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital.  She is now reunited with loving husband of 63 years, Jack LeBlanc and daughter Mary.  Doris is survived by her children Janet (Chris), Larry (Cathy), Rose and Lisa.  Much loved by her grandchildren Timothy, Jamie, Kyle, Crystal, Emily, Michael, and Danica.  She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Ulrich, Tobias, Saxon and Bryce.  At the young age of 12, Doris became mother to her two younger brothers, Edgar and Rene.  She raised and loved all of her children.  When the joys of grandparenthood arrived, she devoted herself to being there for all of her grandchildren when they were in need.  She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.  Her faith in God was so strong and this love was reflected in everything she did.  Her favorite Saints were St. Francis of Assisi and St. Anne.  She was generous, comforting, and always put others before herself.  We love you so much.  Benner Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements.  The celebration of her life will be planned at a later date when we can all be together again.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris's Memory to the Cancer society or Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in recognition of the outstanding professional and compassionate care provided by the staff and Dr. Scher would be appreciated.

Edgar Joseph Pitre:  Giffen-Mack Funeral Home:  Edgar Joseph Pitre, April 19, 1931 - July 12, 2015:  Edgar “Ed” Pitre, born April 19, 1931, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon July 12, 2015 at Providence Healthcare in Scarborough in his 85th year.  Edgar was the beloved husband of Margaret for 60 years.  Loving father to Stephen (Colleen), Anne Marie Armstrong, Michael (Karen), Eileen, Carolyn, and David (Kris).  Loving Grandfather of Jordan, Cole, Robert, Andrew, Eric, Emily, Sean, Julia, Brittney and Alec.  Son of the late Joseph and Ozelie Pitre.  Dear brother of Doris Leblanc and Rene Pitre.  Predeceased by his brother Frank and sisters Elda Melanson, Sophie Babineau, and Mary Lipniskis (Gaudet).  He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Edgar was a faithful member of St. Thomas More Parish serving as a Minister of Hospitality for more than 50 years, as well as a long-time member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  For many years he was an active member of the St. Rose of Lima/ St. Thomas More Bowling League, having served on the executive and as President for a number of years.  In addition he coached his sons in softball and hockey in Scarborough.  In his retirement years he came to enjoy his garden, especially with the help of his grandchildren when they came to harvest raspberries which filled his backyard.  He enjoyed going and watching his grandchildren in their numerous activities.  When he was not busy with that, he enjoyed the challenge of doing repair work around his own home or the homes of his children, or building his version of a Muskoka chair, tables and book cases for the family.  He loved to watch the Blue Jays on television or even listen to them on the radio.  The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Theepa Sundaralingam and her staff in the Oncology department at RVHS Centenary Hospital and to Dr. Richard Brodie and the nurses at Providence Health for the great care they gave to Dad in the last weeks.  A special thanks to Helen Quirke who served so diligently and joyously as Dad’s private nurse and previously to our Mother.  We could not have done it without you.  Thank you also to Dr. James McGarragle, their family doctor, whose regular house calls to check up on Dad was a wonderful support to him as he journeyed with cancer.  Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Edgar with his family during visitation at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, West Hill, ON on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7 -9pm.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Church, Scarborough, ON on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00am.  Internment will take place at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Providence Healthcare Foundation.
