Obituary:  L'Evangeline (NB), Saturday, 30 June 1962:  Pointe Verte, N.B. - The funeral of Mr. Alphonse Pitre of Pointe-Verte, a veteran of the First Great War, aged 67, died on June 15 at Lancaster Hospital in St-Jean, N.B. after several years of illness, was held in Pointe-Verte on June 18.  M. l'abbe Henri Lesvesque, cure, officiated, assisted by Abbes I. Bouchard, cure of Beresford and O. Parker, parish of Belledune, who acted as deacon and subdeacon.  The pallbearers were: Messrs. Alphonse-A. Pitre, son of the deceased, Henri Pitre and Adelard Pitre, brothers; Gerard Pitre, adopted son; Adelard Lagace, brother-in-law and Romeo Hache, son-in-law of the deceased.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Verret, Petit-Rocher.  The deceased was a member of the Third Order and the Bathurst Legion.  At the funeral, Mr. Ulric Doucet, representative of the Legion, recited a prayer on behalf of veterans.  The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olivier Pitre (Gertrude Lagace).  He lived with his son Alphonse.  He is survived by his wife (nee Emma Lagace) two sons: Alphonse-A. Pitre, from Pointe-Verte; Gerard, (adoptive) from the same place; one daughter: Mrs. Romeo Hache (Marguerite) of Pointe-Verte.   He also left two brothers: Henri and Adelard, of Pointe-Verte and six sisters: Mme Joseph-C. Lagace (Elisabeth) of Pointe-Verte; Mrs. Adelard Boudreau (Alfreda) of Dalhousie, N.B.; Ms. Omer Lagace (Christiana), Ms. Adelard Grant (Albina), Ms. Edgar Lagace (Agnes) all from Pointe-Verte; Mrs. Hermenegilde Hache (Maria), Belledune, N.B.

Obituary:   Acadie Nouvelle (NB), 6 October 1989:   Henri Pitre (Mrs) died on October 5, 1989 at 84 years old, born Emma Lagace (Frederic Lagace and Marguerite Lagace) of Pointe Verte.  One daughter Marguerite (Romeo Hache) of Pointe-Verte; one son Alphonse de Pointe-Verte; one sister Maria (Amedee Devost) of Godbout, Qc.
