Eleanor is preceded in death by her siblings, Edna, Madaline, and Vincent. Eleanor, also known as Mom, Grandma, Grandma Michigan and Gigi, was dedicated to her family. She kept a detailed calendar that contained every birthday and anniversary in this large extended family. She always made sure to send cards out for each special occasion. A birthday nor anniversary was ever missed. Eleanor also spent a great deal of time each year creating special Christmas ornaments for each and every child in the family who was under 16 years of age. She wanted each child, grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild to have their own unique set of Christmas ornaments for when they moved out on their own. Eleanor lived over 40 years at the Williamsburg Apartments, a place she considered home, where she created lasting friendships and enjoyed every moment spent there. Many of the holidays with her family was spent there and forever will be remembered for all the laughs, yummy food and lack of space as the family grew bigger. Eleanor's career included significant roles at Vernor's and the city of St. Clair Shores, where she not only contributed to her workplace but also shared delightful experiences, such as watching the Thanksgiving Day parade from her office. Her love for independence was a defining aspect of her life, and she embraced it wholeheartedly. An active member of her community, Eleanor enjoyed playing pinochle in a card club and was a proud participant in the Red Hat Society. A true lover of nature, Eleanor had a special fondness for yellow birds, particularly Woodstock and Big Bird, and she adored her parakeets. Eleanor was also an avid gardener and loved her fresh veggies every year. Eleanor was a faithful and devout Catholic who took time to pray daily for family, friends, and others who added their names to a prayer list through the church. Eleanor's faith allowed her to not only be at peace accepting that her time here on earth was coming to an end, but also that those who passed before her would be waiting to greet her at her appointed time. Interment October 12, 2024 at Resurrection Cemetery.
