Obituary: Houma Courier (LA), Tuesday, 7 January 2003: (photo) Horace Roger 'Pete' Pitre, Sr., 89, a native of Morgan City, a former resident of Montegut and resident of Baton Rouge, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. Religious services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis King of France Church in Baton Rouge, with interment in Greenoaks Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Corsentino Pitre; three sons, Forest Pitre and wife, Cherry, Horace "Pete" Pitre Jr. and wife, Penny, and Tommy Pitre; one daughter, Rosie Pitre Austin and husband, Don; one brother, Lionel Pitre Sr. and wife, Ponnie, of Montegut; two sisters, Rosalie Crochet of Montegut and husband, C. J., and Lucy Pitre Mahan of Houma; one sister-in-law, Helen Pitre of Montegut; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Breaux Pitre; his father, Forest Pitre; two brothers, Norris Pitre and Jimmy Pitre. He was a founder and 47-year board member of the Baton Rouge Mental Health Association, a past vice president, Central body of the City-Parish AFLCIO, a member of the Eagles Club, UCT, a fourth degree Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus Council No. 3298, a member and usher of St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church of Greenwell Springs. He was a retired City-Parish Baton Rouge employee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge Mental Health Association. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: The
Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Friday, 15 August 2014: Mary Rose
Corsentino Pitre: A resident of Baton Rouge, LA., she passed away at
8:00am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at her daughter's home surrounded by her
family. She was 88 years old. She was a loving wife, mother, sister,
mother-in-law, and grandmother. She was an avid homemaker. For more
than 20 years she not only cared for her own children but provided care for
other children in her home. This was a true testament to her love of
caregiving. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed
while remaining in our hearts. Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus
Liquori Catholic Church, on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 9:30am until Mass of
Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Moroney.
Entombment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her
daughter, Rosalie Pitre Austin; son and his wife, Forest and Cherry
Pitre; son and his wife, Horace (Pete) and Penny Pitre; and Tommy Pitre.
She had nine grandchildren, Kasey Austin, Stacey Lamabe, Jason Pitre, Laurie
Ringo, Danielle Fontenot, T.J. Pitre, Dakota Pitre, Anthony Pitre, and Courtney
Zanes. She had eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Lanky
Corsentino and Anthony Corsentino and his wife, Patsy; and numerous nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.R. Pitre, Sr.;
son-in-law, Don Austin; sisters, Vita Martello and husband, Rocky;
Josephine Zito and husband, Frank, Lena Pritchett and husband, Jack; Theresa
Swanson and husband, Eric Sr.; brothers, Angelo Corsentino and wife, Dot;
S. J. Corsentino; and Cora Corsentino. Pallbearers will be Jason Pitre,
T. J. Pitre, Frank Ringo, John Lamabe, Eddie Pitre, Sr., and Anthony Pitre.
Honorary pallbearers; Rick Fontenot, Anthony Corsentino, Marc Ragon, and Frank
Valenzano. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Judy
Maridy, her caregiver, for taking care of their mother during her time and a
special thanks to Lorriane Wells with South Louisiana Hospice, Inc. In
lieu of flowers, please make donations to Baton Rouge Mental Health Assoc.
