Misc:  - Malone Evening Telegram (Malone, NY), Friday, 3 April 1931:  Brasher Falls Man Injured in Car Accident.  Massena - Henry Lashomb, about 60 of Brasher Falls, was very seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when the car in which he was a passenger crashed into a guard post at the aluminum plant bridge on Willow street.  Napp Santamour East Orvis street, owner and driver of the new car, escaped injury but Clarence Mitchell, about 40, of Brasher Falls, received cuts on the head.  The three men were driving toward the village and were attempting to drive onto the bridge.  The heavy machine crashed into the guard post, knocking a cement post off its base.  Mr. Lashomb tried to jump from the car and landed on his head off the cement walk.  He suffered a deep cut across the back of his head and over his forhead.  Mr. Mitchell's injuries do not seem to be as serious.  The three were taken to the aluminum plant hospital.

- Malone Evening Telegram (Malone, NY), Thursday, 16 April 1931:  Brasher Center - Henry F. LaShombe, who was injured in an automobile accident, returned from the hospital at Ogdensburg Saturday.

- Ogdensburg Journal (NY), Wednesday, 5 May 1937:  Madrid Springs - Henry Lashomb who has been confined to his home for several weeks with kidney and bladder ailment, was taken to Hepburn Hospital Thursday afternoon.

- Ogdensburg Journal (NY), Friday, 25 June 1937:  Madrid Springs - William Hargrave motored to Ogdensburg on business Monday.  Henry Lashomb returned home with him from Hepburn Hospital where he has been a patient for several weeks.  Mr. Lashomb is slightly improved.

Obituary:  Ogdensburg Advance (NY), Thursday, 24 March 1910:  Brasher Falls, March 22 - Mrs. Henry F. Lashombe of the Bush died on Saturday evening.  She had one of her limbs amputated on Saturday by Dr. Alguire of Cornwall and Dr. Smith of Winthrop, but she did not rally from the operation.  She has been ill all winter.  Her maiden name was Miss Mary Cotter, and she leaves five children beside her husband and two brothers, William and John of North Lawrence.  Her funeral will be held today at the Catholic church.

Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Tuesday, 23 March 1965:  Canton, March 23 - The funeral for Mrs. May B. LaShomb, 76, Canton, widow of Henry LaShomb, who died Sunday at the Edward John Noble hospital, Canton, after a long illness, will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the O'Leary funeral home and at 9:30 at St. Mary's church.  Rev. J. Albert O'Brien, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Brasher Falls.  Mrs. LaShomb was born in Morley on Aug. 5, 1888, daughter of Oscar and Katherine Bill Dumont.  She attended school at Morley.  After her marriage to Mr. LaShomb, the couple lived at Brasher Falls for years.  Mrs. LaShomb moved to Madrid when her husband died several years ago.  More recently she had been a resident of Canton.  She had been in the Noble hospital since January.

- Ogdensburg Journal (NY), Sunday, 28 March 1965:  23 March:  Mrs. May B. Lashombe, 76, Canton, died Sunday night, at the E. J. Noble Hospital at Canton after a long illness.  She had been a patient there since January of this year.


Obituaries for the children:

James Joseph Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Wednesday, 26 June 1974:  James LaShomb, 79, of 402 Midtown Towers, was found dead in his apartment at 11p.m., Tuesday, by Herbert Smith, building maintenance man, who was investigating an odor coming from the apartment.  City Police said Mr. LaShomb's body was found on his bed.  County Medical Examiner Dr. Richard S. Lee said Mr. LaShomb had been dead four or five days.  No autopsy was performed as the death was from natural causes, the doctor said, adding that Mr. LaShomb had "an extended history of cancer."  The body will be released to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.  Mr. LaShomb is survived by a brother, Albert LaShomb, Massena; a sister, Mrs. George (Nora) LaPree, Massena; nieces and nephews.  He was born April 30, 1895, in the Town of Brasher, a son of Henry F. and Mary Cotter LaShomb.  He was a self-employed air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic in Watertown.
 

Nora Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday 5 June 1975: Funeral services for Mrs. Nora LaShomb LaPree, 78, wife of George F. LaPree, Brasher Flats, will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Sacred Heart Church, Massena, and burial will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Brasher Falls.  The body is at the Phillips Memorial Home.  Mrs. LaPree died unexpectedly at her home late Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 1975.  She was found by her husband.  She had not previously been ill.  Surviving are the husband; two sons, Gordon LaPree, Temple, N.H., and Robert LaPree, Brasher; five daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Kellogg, Mrs. Charles (Elaine) Clement, and Mrs. Vincent (Eileen) DiTullio, all of Massena, Mrs. Edwin (Irene) Krenceski, Canton, and Mrs. Paul (Jean) Derouchie, Helena; 30 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Albert LaShomb, Massena; five nephews.  Mrs. LaPree was born in Brasher Falls Mar. 26, 1897, a daughter of Henry and Mary Cotter LaShomb.  She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy Brasher Falls.  She and George LaPree, a native of Moira, son of Frank and Kathryn McDonald LaPree were married in the old Sacred Heart Church Dec. 2, 1918.  The Rev. Timothy P. Holland, a native of the Brushton-Moira area, was pastor of Sacred Heart Church at that time and he officiated at the wedding.  Mr. LaPree was secured a job at Massena Operations, Alcoa, and worked there until they purchased the farm on Brasher Flats in 1922.  She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the League of the Sacred Heart.

Albert Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 28 April 1977:  Albert J. LaShomb, 77, of 21 Spruce St.,, was pronounced dead upon arrival at noon Tuesday, Apr. 26, 1977, at Massena Memorial Hospital where he was taken by the Massena Rescue Squad.  He had been failing for ten years.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the Donaldson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  He was born Sept. 26, 1899 in Brasher Falls, the son of Henry and Mary Cotter LaShomb, attended Brasher Falls schools and came to Massena in 1932.  He retired in 1965 from Alcoa, Massena Operations in the electrical Dept.  He married Bernadette Mere May 21, 1926 in St. Mary's Church in Massena.  She passed away Dec. 14, 1973.  Mr. LaShomb was a life member of Knight of Columbus 1141 and Alcoa 25 Year Service Club.  He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Surviving are three sons, Wayne E. LaShomb, Cooper St., Bernard A. LaShomb, 5 Northview; Marc T. LaShomb, Malone; nine grandchildren.
