Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 28 June 1983: Funeral services were scheduled for 12:30 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home, Thibodaux, for Hector Joseph Pitre Sr., 81, who died at 8 a.m. Monday (27th). Religious services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church, with interment in the church cemetery. He was the husband of Jeanne Rodrigue Pitre; father of Leo, Lucien, Sherman; Louis, Hector Jr. and Norris Pitre, Mrs. Elvin (Irene) Gros, Mrs. Alvin (Altrine) Sanchez, Mrs. Valcour (Verena) Sanchez and the late Murphy Pitre. He was the brother of Elodie Ordoyne, Mrs. Emma Ordoyne, Mrs. Felecia Benoit, Mrs. Melia Thibodaux, Mrs. Marie Ponvelle, Nobin Pitre and the late Louisa Sanchez, Austane Ordoyne, Melanie Ponvelle, Eddie and Wilson Pitre. He is survived by 40 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Thibodaux.

Catholic Church for Jeanne Rodrigue Pitre, 77, a native of Lafourche
Parish and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 1:30 a.m. today. Visitation
is at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral
time Friday. Interment is in the church cemetery. She was the mother
of Leo, Louis, Lucien, Sherman, Norris and Hector Pitre Jr., Irene Gros,
Alterine Sanchez and Verena Sanchez and sister of Klebert, Jesie and
Izadore Rodrigue, Louisa Rodrigue, Inez Delatte, Claudia Pitre and Mary Ann
Falgoust. She is also survived by 42 grandchildren and 34 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Pitre
Sr.; parents, Adam and Amanda Peltier Rodrigue and sons, Hilton
and Murphy Pitre.

Born on Oct. 27, 1934, he was a native and resident of Thibodaux. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Ordoyne Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery. Leo is survived by his son, Bobby Pitre and wife Shari; daughters, Patricia Boudreaux and husband Jamie, and Gwendolynn Beaver and husband Steve; stepchildren, Tim and wife Dena, Richard, Ricky, Shannon, Dean, Marie, Rachel, Marie and David; longtime companion, Mary Jo Cordell; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sherman, Norris, Hector, Jr., Alterine and Verena. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Joseph and Jeanne Marie Rodrigue Pitre; son, Carl and wife Priscilla; stepdaughter, Sheila; siblings, Lucien, Louis, Murphy, Hilton and Irene; and two previous wives, Jean Pittman and Edna Harp. Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her
husband of 54 years, Elvin J. Gros; seven children, Hilton, Donald,
Eddie and wife, Jeanie, Elizabeth Andras and husband, Harold, Brad and wife,
Donna, Crystal Bergeron and husband, Trinity and Cindy; 28 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alterine Sanchez and Verena Sanchez and
husband, Valcour; four brothers, Hector Jr. and wife, Dorothy, Norris and
wife, Raydell, Sherman and wife, Nancy and Leo Pitre. She was preceded
in death by her parents, Hector Sr. and Jeanne Rodrigue Pitre; son,
Kevin Paul; grandson, Harold Andras III; daughter-in-law, Barbara
Gros; brother-in-law, Alvin Sanchez; and four brothers, Hilton,
Murphy, Louis and Lucien Pitre. She was loved by many and will be
sadly missed. Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of the

“Tina” Pitre Sanchez born January 16, 1954 passed away peacefully on
Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 9:35 AM at the age of 66 at her residence in
Labadieville, LA. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Valcour “Pitch” Sanchez;
children and their spouses, Roxanne and Chris Millet, John and Cynthia
Sanchez, and Jason and April Sanchez; brothers, Norris, Sherman, and
Hector Pitre; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and Hector Pitre; sister,
Irene Gros; and brothers, Leo, Lucien, Louis, Murphy, and Hilton Pitre.
A special thanks to the staff at Baton Rouge General and Journey Hospice for
caring for our mother. A private graveside service will be held at St.
Philomena Cemetery in Labadieville. Landry's Funeral Home Inc. is in
charge of arrangements.
