Obituary:  The Record (Hackensack, NJ), Friday, 2 August 1940:  Henry J. Peters Killed in Fall - Body of Tree Surgeon, 55, is Sent to Canada:  Henry J. Peters, 55, tree surgeon, of 35 Goffie Road, Midland Park, died Wednesday night at the Paterson General Hospital of injuries incurred when he fell from a tree that afternoon while working on the estate of Dr. William E. Betts at Pompton Lakes.  The body was taken from the Van Emburgh Mortuary Chapel, Ridgewood, and sent by train to Canada, accompanied by relatives.  Upon arrival at Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island, a solemn requiem mass will be said at St. Anthony's R.C. Church there.  The Rev. John Gaudet, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Bloomfield.  The accident which resulted in the Midland Park man's death was not witnessed by any one.  Investigation indicated that he lost his balance while working high in the tree and fell to the ground.  He was found some time after the mishap and rushed to the hospital.  The accident happened about 4 P.M. and he died at 10:30 at night.  Mr. Peters was born in Bloomfield and came to this country in his early youth, having resided in the United States for nearly 50 years, much of the time in and around Providence, R.I.  In 1912 he married Miss Celia Pineault, sister of Henry V. Pineault of 14 South Maple Avenue, Ridgewood.  On a visit to his brother-in-law in Ridgewood a few years ago, he was attracted by this section and saw possibilities for a man in his profession.  He moved here little more than a year ago and had resided at the Goffie Road address ever since.  An expert in his profession, he met with considerable success in business here despite the fact that he was a newcomer.  Surviving are his widow; father, Jerry Peters of Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island; and 4 brothers, James and Arthur of Providence, R.I., Kenneth of Lowell, Mass. and Joseph, of Prince Edward Island.
