Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet: Religious services had been scheduled for 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Galliano for Sophie Marie P. Pitre, 81, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday (12 January 1985) in Cut Off. Interment was to be in Cheramie Mausoleum in Galliano. She was the mother of Paul ‘Pavie’, Louis J., and Willy D. Pitre; and the sister of Mrs. Joseph Cheramie. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Pitre; six brothers and sisters, Elphege Pitre, Elfer Pitre, Elie D. Pitre, Melanie Pitre, Daisy Pitre and Aticha Cheramie; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pitre. Arrangements by Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. He will be cremated. He is survived by his wife, Delores "Dee" Martinez Pitre; daughters, Carlotta Toups, Sheryl Harrison and Stephanie Ryman; brothers, Paul "Pavie" Victor Pitre and Wilkie David Pitre; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sophie Pitre.
Wilkie David Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet, 1 November 2004: Wilkie "Peco'n" David Pitre, 63, a native and resident of Galliano, died Oct. 29, 2004. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Guidry Pitre; son, Kevin Pitre; daughters, Penny Pitre and Crystal Hodge; brother, Paul Pitre; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sophie Pitre; and brother, Louis Pitre. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a self-employed shrimper. The family has requested that no floral tributes be sent. Samart Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
