Obituary:  Gilton Joseph Pitre, 83, native and resident of Houma died Feb. 6, 1991.  Survived by wife, Marie Oncale Pitre of Houma; son Reynold J. Pitre of Houma; stepsons, Kenneth Allemand of Raceland and Michael Allemand of Lockport; stepdaughters, Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) LeBouef of Houma, Mrs. Clifford (Judy) Bonvillian of Lockport; brother, Louis Pitre of Houma; sisters, Mrs. Amos (Bessie) Melancon, Mrs. Justilien (Agnes) Pitre, both of Houma, and Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Baus of Trenton, NJ.  Preceded by first wife Lena Authement; parents Herbert and Mary Babin Pitre; son Alton J. Obituary:  Lena Authement Pitre, 78, native and resident of Houma, died Wednesday (Sept. 21, 1988).  Services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, burial in church cemetery.  Survived by husband, Gilton Joseph Pitre; sons, Alton J. and Reynold J. Pitre, both of Houma; brothers, James "Jimmy" and Isreal Authement, both of Chauvin; sisters, Mrs. Sidney (Adele) Cantrell, Mrs James (Hazel) Pitre, Mrs James (Mildred) Shadduck, all of Houma.  Preceded by parents, Marcel J. and Henrietta Chaisson Authement, brothers, George, Wilfred, Wilson, Jackson and Harry Authement; sister, Mrs Edward (Edna) Price.

Reynold Joseph Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Reynold Joseph Pitre, 83, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 1:24 pm.  He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Burial: Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.  He is survived by his spouse: Lucille LeBlanc Pitre, sons: Ronnie Pitre and wife Geralyn, Jason Pitre and wife Patti, and Chris Pitre and wife Sherrie, daughter: Lynn Ritchie and husband Stanley, sister-in-law: Josie Pitre, grandchildren: Biff, Jennifer, Wil, Ritchie, Ryan, Cody, and Jamie Pitre, step-grandchildren: Jessie Smith, Amber Nobles, Danielle Aucoin, Danny Borel, Amy Newton, Bryan Bleitz, Crystal Charlet, Erica Waguespack, Becky, Ryan, and Kyle Sonier.  He is also survived by many loving great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Gilton and Lena Authement Pitre, and brother Alton Pitre.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., he was a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, he was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary and Mason DeVille every other Sunday for 10 years.  He retired from Halliburton after 23 years of service.  He also was a volunteer for the Food Bank and was also their manager for 21 years.  He is estimated to have served over fifty thousand people during his 21 years of service.  He was dedicated and loved his work.  He was a fun loving person, wonderful husband, and great father.  He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all of his volunteers.
