Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 4 December 1983: Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church for Mr. George C. Pitre, 73, of Opelousas, who died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, at his residence. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. Survivors include Sarah Thomas Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, Ronald of Opelousas, and Tommy of Shreveport; two sisters, Louise Durio, of Opelousas and Rena Pitre of California; and four grandchildren. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 19 January 1997: Funeral services for Mrs. George Pitre, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park. Mrs. Pitre (the former Sara Thomas),, a resident of Opelousas, died at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at her residence. She was an assistance business manager. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until the time of service today. The Rev. Perry Hubb will conduct services. Survivors include: two sons, Tommy Pitre of Shreveport and Ronald Pitre of Opelousas; one sister, Mrs. Marion Scarbrough of New Orleans; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

for Ronnie Douglas Pitre will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00pm
at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. The interment will
take place at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Deacon Jerome Collins
will conduct the services. Mr. Pitre, age 69, a resident of Opelousas,
died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Eunice Manor Nursing Home. He was a
retired social worker in child protection services with the State of Louisiana.
Survivors include his son; Thad Christian Pitre and wife Tracy of
Slidell, brother Tommy G. Pitre of Shreveport, one grandson Tyler
Pitre of Salt Lake, Utah, 3 nephews: Christopher and Michael of
Shreveport and Matthew of Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in
death by his parents, George and Sara Thomas Pitre. The family has
requested visitation be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm
and will reopen on Sunday at 9:00am until time of services at 2:00pm. A
rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm on Saturday.
