Obituary:  Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Wednesday, 9 January 1952:  In Memoriam - Mrs. Fidele Peters - The death of Mrs. Fidele Peters at the age of 83 occurred at her home at Augustine Cove on Tuesday morning the 11th of Dec. 1951, after a prolonged illness which she bore with true Christian patience.  The late Mrs. Peters was formerly Miss Maud Gallant, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Gallant of Mayfield, P.E.I.  During her illness she was often visited by her pastor, the Rev. R. MacDonald of Seven Mile Bay, who also administered the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church.  On Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 1951, her remains were taken to Seven Mile Bay Church where Rev. R. MacDonald celebrated requiem High Mass, after which her body was taken to the adjoining cemetery for interment.  Rev. R. MacDonald also officiated at the grave.  Besides a sorrowing husband she leaves to mourn four sons, Amos in Borden, Wilfred and Peter in Augustine Cove and John in Charlottetown.  Two sons, Michael and Terence predeceased her some years ago.  She is also survived by four brothers and two sisters.  The brothers are George Gallant and Cyriac Gallant of Mayfield, P.E.I., Moses Gallant of North Rustico, and Joseph A. Gallant of Summerside.  The sisters are Mrs. Samuel Pineau (Maria) of North Rustico and Mrs. Placid Deveau (Sarah) of Bristol, P.E.I.  A number of grandchildren also survive.  The pall-bearers were W. Obituaries for the children:

Michael Pitre:  The Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Thursday, 24 August 1944:  Truck Driver Killed in Crash Yesterday - Michael Peters, 35, of Augustine Cove was instantly killed yesterday afternoon about one o'clock when a six-ton truck loaded with gravel that he was driving crashed into the side of a west bound freight at Richmond Station.  The truck was travelling east and the driver apparently in an effort to avoid hitting the train at the last minute swerved to the right, sheared off the wig wag sign post and hit the second car of the train sideways.  The truck is a total wreck and body was trapped in the cab making it necessary to cut the frame to remove it.  The truck belonged to J. F. MacWilliams of Tryon.  A coroner's jury was empanelled by coroner Dr. W. B. Howatt of Summerside.  They viewed the body and the scene of the accident and then adjourned till four-thirty this afternoon.  The members of the jury are: J. P. Gaudet, Linus McDonald, James A. McNeil, Leo McNally, and Lester McDougall, all of Richmond and Ruben Enman and Kenneth Enman of Springfield.  The deceased is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fidele Peters of Augustine Cove and is survived by his wife and three children.  Four brothers also survive, Amos in Borden, Wilfred, Augustine Cove, Peter, Carlston and John in Charlottetown.
