Obituary: Clarion News (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 6 February 1930: Felicien Pitre, 72, of Washington, died at the family home Friday and interment followed at Cedar Rest Cemetery Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, after services at Sacred Heart Church. He was a former constable, member of W.O.W., and highly respected citizen of Washington. Felicien Pitre is survived by his wife, Mrs. Armede Pitre, and one daughter, Mrs. J. B. Deshotel.

Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 12 July 1945: Armide Pitre, 89 year old resident of Grand Prairie passed away at his home at 6:30 Wednesday morning. The funeral will be held from the family residence at 5:00 Thursday with services in the Catholic church in Washington and interment in the Catholic cemetery. Father J.C. Cooney will officiate. Mr. Pitre is survived by Mrs. J.D. Deshotel of Grand Prairie, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Lafond and Son will have charge of funeral arrangements.

Marie Ortelia Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 16 June 1967: Ville Platte - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. J. B. Deshotels, 89, who died at 9:30 P.M. Thursday in Ville Platte Medical Center. The former Ortelia Pitre, she was a native of Washington. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington. Her body is in Ardoin Funeral Home, Ville Platte, where the rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock tonight. Survivors are three sons, Francis 'Butch' Deshotels, Ville Platte; J. C. Deshotels, Crowley; and J. B. Deshotels, New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Drew Guillory, Ville Platte; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
