Obituaries for the children:

Alfred Pitre:  Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Tuesday, 1 March 1966:  Fenton - Funeral services for Alfred Pitre, 69, of Fenton, were to be at 10 a.m. today from Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh with Rev. Jules O. Daigle, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Welsh Catholic Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.  Mr. Pitre died at 6:30 a.m. Monday in his home following a long illness.  A retired farmer, he was born near Oberlin and had lived in Fenton 20 years.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Armena A. Pitre; one step-son, Eurick Richard of Fenton; one daughter, Mrs. Ted Baier of West Lake; one brother, Mayo Pitre of Hathaway; one step-brother, Adam Ardoin of Evangeline, and one sister, Mrs. Eulice Miller of Evangeline.

Azeline Pitre:  The Crowley Post Signal (Crowley, LA), Wednesday, 3 October 1990:  Jennings - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 4 at the St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee Mamou for Azeline Miller, 98, who died Tuesday, October 2, 2:10 a.m. in the Jennings Guest House.  Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate.  Burial will be in the Tee Mamou Cemetery.  Visitation hours will be observed this morning until the time of service.  Mrs. Miller was a native of Kinder and a resident of Jennings.  Survivors include her sons, Florence Miller and Elbery Miller both of Evangeline; two daughters, Mrs. Bercy Bergeaux of Tee Mamou and Mrs. Margaret King of Sulphur; one half-brother, Adam Ardoin of Basile; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great-grandchildren.  Matthews and Son Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

 

Meaux 'Mayo' Pitre:  Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Wednesday, 20 April 1966: Hathaway - Funeral services for Mayo Pete, 67, were to be at 3 p.m. today from St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rev. Wilfred Sylvester, pastor, officiating.  Burial was to be in Reed Cemetery near Basile.  Mr. Pete died unexpectedly Tuesday morning in his home near Jennings.  A native of Allen Parish, he had lived in the Hathaway area for 13 years after moving from Millerville.  He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Irrigation Milling Co.  A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.  Survivors are his wife, the former Gustan Reed: seven daughters, Mrs. Edmond Crochet of Hathaway, Mrs. Emerson Lopez, Mrs. Dave Broussard and Mrs. Allen Gary, all of Jennings, Mrs. Eddie Labove of Lake Arthur, Mrs. Melvin Breaux of Lake Charles and Mrs. John Debarge of Kinder.  Also, two sons, Oris J. Pete of Jennings and Clifford Pete of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Eulice Miller of Evangeline; one half-brother, Adam Ardoin of Evangeline; 46 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
