Obituary:  Daily Gleaner (Fredericton, NB), Monday, 20 June 1977:  Mrs. Angeline Pitre, 89, of 321 Regent St. died Sunday at her home.  Born in Rustico, P.E.I., Mrs. Pitre was a daughter of the late Theophile and Valentine Doucette.  She took up residence in Fredericton about 28 years ago.  Mrs. Pitre was affiliated with the St. Dunstan's Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League.  She is survived by a daughter, Gertrude; two nephews, which she raised, Louis Doucette, Saint John and George Doucette, Rogersville; a brother-in-law, Damas Pitre and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jerome Doucette, both of Rogersville and a large number of nieces and nephews.  The body is resting in the J. A. McAdam Funeral Home from where it will be taken to the St. Dunstan's Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. for funeral service.  Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery.  [In addition, below: widow of Felix Pitre]

 

Obituary for the daughter:

Marie Gertrude Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Tuesday, 6 November 2007:  The death of M. Gertrude Pitre of Saint John formerly of Fredericton, NB, occurred at Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 5, 2007.  Born in Rogersville, NB on December 6, 1910.  She was the daughter of the late Felix and Angeline (Doucette) Pitre.  Gertrude was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She worked as a Civil Servant for the Federal Government for many years and was a member of St. Dunstan's Catholic Church and a member of the CWL for over fifty years.  Gertrude is survived by many cousins who will all miss her greatly.  Predeceased by her parents; one uncle, Damas; one aunt, Angeline; three cousins, Louis and George and Edward.  Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Thursday, November 8th, 2007 at 12:00 noon with Father David Martin as celebrant.  Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery.  For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
