Born in Detroit, he came here in 1974 from Sinclair Shores, Mich. He was an automobile salesman and was a member of the Beverly Hills Fishing Club and the Michigan Club. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary L.; two daughters, Joyce Bonderszuk, New York City, and Jackie, Florida; a brother, Ralph, and a sister, Ruth Smith, both of Michigan; and several grandchildren. Lorraine M. Peters: Lorraine M. Olgren, age 88, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she had been a resident since April of 2006. Lorraine was born May 30, 1923 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late Frederick and Adeline (Fante) Peters. She grew up in Detroit, MI moving to Ishpeming in 1968, where she had resided since. Lorraine enjoyed watching TV, especially old movies and WWE Wrestling. Survivors include a daughter Diane (Butch) Haglund of Ishpeming, a grandson Mike (Angie) Melka of Peshtigo, WI, two great-granddaughters Kayla and Lexi. She was preceded in death by her former husband Ted Olgren and grandsons Jim and Rob Melka. A graveside memorial service will be held this summer at the Ishpeming Cemetery where inurnment will take place.
Ruth Katherine Peters: Smith, Ruth, 84 of
Prudenville passed away on Saturday at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
Ruth was born to Frederick and Adeline (Fante) Peters. She was
married in Bowling Green, Ohio on June 7, 1950 to James Edward Smith, and
he survives. Ruth enjoyed family and loved caring for her husband and two
children. The couple moved to Prudenville from St. Clair Shores 21 years
ago. Surviving Mrs. Smith are her loving husband of over 60 years,
James E. Smith of Prudenville; one beloved daughter, Janet Smith of
Prudenville; one beloved son, Richard (Irene) Smith of Livonia; two
precious granddaughters, Adrienne and Jackie. Family remembrance
was held for Mrs. Smith. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in
honor of Ruth's memory are asked to consider the charity of the donor's choice.
