Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 16 December 2007:  Francis Joseph Pitre, 87, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007.  Visitation will be from noon to funeral time Monday at the Samart-Mothe Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Rovina Arceneaux; two sons, Roy and Charles Pitre; two daughters, Edwina Duncanson and Charlene Pitre; one brother, Robert Pitre; and one sister, Nora Pitre.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege and Argentina Bychurch Pitre; two brothers, Eusebe and Volcare; and three sisters, Stella Cantrelle, Louisa Griffin and Lula Saia.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
