Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 16 December 2007: Francis Joseph Pitre, 87, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007. Visitation will be from noon to funeral time Monday at the Samart-Mothe Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Rovina Arceneaux; two sons, Roy and Charles Pitre; two daughters, Edwina Duncanson and Charlene Pitre; one brother, Robert Pitre; and one sister, Nora Pitre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege and Argentina Bychurch Pitre; two brothers, Eusebe and Volcare; and three sisters, Stella Cantrelle, Louisa Griffin and Lula Saia. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Samart-Mothe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, October 28, 1922 - September 30, 2020: Rovina Arceneaux Pitre, 97, born in Marrero, a native of Lockport, and a resident of Galliano passed away on Wednesday September 30, 2020. A visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with procession following to her graveside service at Cheramie Cemetery. Mrs. Rovina is survived by her children; Edwina Duncanson, Roy Pitre, Charlene Pitre, and Charles Pitre, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and sister; Rose Ledet. Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her husband; Francis Pitre, parents Louis P. Arceneaux and Edna Chiasson Arceneaux, brother; Malcom J. Arceneaux, and sisters; Wilma LaRose, Thelma Loupe, and Edwina Arceneaux. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano and was a member of the choir there for many years. She will be greatly missed by all her family who were all blessed to have her for her 97 years.
