Obituary: Plattsburg Press Republican (NY), Tuesday, 12 March 1996: Ellenburg Center - Floyd J. Peets, 91, died Saturday, March 9, 1996, at his home. Born in Ellenburg Center April 19, 1904, he was the son of Louis and Lena (Senecal) Peets. He was a member of St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg and was the oldest member of the Ellenburg 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a farmer all of his life. He was a member of Agway and a delegate for Dairylea Cooperative. He was a former Town of Ellenburg councilman and one of the founding members of the Ellenburg Center Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, the former Regina Fisher; three sons, Gerald Peets and Lester Peets, both of Ellenburg Center and Leonard Peets of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Paul Kelly of Westville; two brothers, Henry Peets and Donald Peets, both of Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A brother, Eugene Peets, and a sister, Mabel Peets, and his first wife, Delia Peets, died before him. Calling hours were held at E.F. Drown Funeral Service Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. today at St. Edmund's Church. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Obituary: Press Republican (NY), Monday, 17 March 1997: Ellenburg Center - Regina M. Peets, 85, at her residence. She was born May 11, 1911, in Newberryport, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Victoria (Dauphinais) Fisher. Mrs. Peets was a member of St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg and St. Edmund's Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of the Ellenburg Center Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gerald Peets and Lester and Bernie Peets, all of Ellenburg Center, Leonard and Sue Peets of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Kelly of Westville; a sister, Leona Kane of Milton; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Floyd J. Peets, died March 9, 1996. A sister, Amelia Gokey Vieo, and two brothers, Romeo and Leo Fisher, died earlier. Calling hours will be held at E.F. Drown Funeral Home in Ellenburg Depot from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edmund's Church. Gerald James Peets: The Malone Telegram (NY), Tuesday, 23 June 2015: Ellenburg Center - Gerald Peets, 87, of Glenns Way, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, at the UVHN at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 20, 1927 in Ellenburg, New York, the son of Floyd and Della (Dupree) Peets. Gerald was a farmer all of his life and ran the Peets Brothers Farm in Ellenburg alongside his brother, Lester. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 4441 in Ellenburg and a 4th Degree Knight with Assembly 711 in Malone. Gerald served as past Grand Knight and was currently serving as Deputy Grand Knight. He was also currently serving as town councilman for the town of Ellenburg. Gerald enjoyed visiting with everyone he encountered. He spent a lot of his time at the adult center and loved taking trips to the casino. Survivors include three siblings, Lester Peets and his wife, Bernie, of Ellenburg Center, Leonard Peets and his wife, Sue, of Lakeland, Florida, and Shirley Kelly and her husband, Paul, of Malone; several nieces and nephews; and a special caring friend, Bruce Guay. Gerald was predeceased by his parents and his stepmother, Regina Peets. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Members of the Knights of Columbus are asked to meet at the church for 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ellenburg Depot Fire Department. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced with the Rabideau Funeral Home, Ellenburg, NY.
