Rita Pitre: The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Monday, 20 February 2006: Laviolette, Rita (nee Pitre) - In the arms of the angels, and surrounded by her family, Rita passed away on February 16, 2006 at St. Joseph's Villa. She is predeceased by her loving husband and our Papa, Melvin Laviolette (1986). She was the amazing Mama of eight children, Isabelle (Bill) Gainfort, Ann 'Annabelle' Laviolette, Phyllis (Carn) Way, Linda (Rick) Joslin, Lois (Larry) Morelli, Pauline (Danny) DeRosa, Craig (Christine), Mark (Janice). Rita was the fun grandma of twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers Augustin Pitre and Yvon Pitre, and sisters Georgianne LeBlanc, Lucie Bouvier and Antoinette LeBlanc. She leaves behind three sisters, Annette LeBlanc of Hamilton, Gilberte Pitre of Terrasse Vaudreuil, Quebec, and Berthe Pitre of Rimouski, Quebec. Rita was also predeceased by dear friend Marshall Schooley. Rita was a vibrant, hardworking, fun-loving and deeply faithful person. She brought laughter and joy to those she met. Family and friends will be received at Cresmount Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Monday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. We give our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph's Villa for the wonderful care given to our mother these many years. God Bless all of you. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Villa Foundation would be appreciated. She would want us to smile when we remember her. Au Revoir Rita.
Lucie Pitre: Bouvier (Pitre, Lucie). At l'Ile Bizard, 19 June 1991, passed away Madame Paul Bouvier, 63 years, nee Lucie Pitre. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Real, Pauline, Jean-Pierre, Rolland, Maurice and their spouses, as well as many grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Viewing at the salons: Urgel Bourgie, Ste. Genevieve. The funeral will take place Saturday 22 June at 12:30 p.m. in St. Raphael church, Ile Bizard and then to the cemetery of Ile Bizard. Relatives and friends are kindly requested to attend without further invitation. Visiting hours: Friday 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.
Berthe Pitre: 13 January 1929 – 4 February 2020: At the Rimouski Regional Hospital on February 4, 2020, passed away at the age of 91, Mrs. Berthe Pitre, residing in Rimouski, wife in first marriage of the late Mr. Joseph-Henri Poirier and in second marriage of the late Mr. Roger Dumais, daughter of the late Mr. Ferdinand Pitre and the late Mrs. Rosalie Martin. The family will receive condolences on Friday, February 14, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday from 9 a.m., at the Cooperative funeraire du Bas-Saint-Laurent, in Rimouski. The funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15 at 10:30 a.m., in the church of Saint-Pie-X and the burial will take place later in the Saint-Germain commemorative gardens in Rimouski. She is survived by her six children, Jacques Poirier (Monique Girard), Gisele Poirier (Louis Drapeau), Bernard Poirier (Judith Dumais), Chantal Poirier (Pierre Gingras), Serge Poirier (Marguerite Michaud) and Johanne Poirier, Daughters of Marie-de-l'Assomption. Her grandchildren; Guillaume, Julie, Benoit, Yves, Stephane, her godson Eric, Lyne, Marie-Helene, Alexandre, as well as his goddaughter Marie-Josee Lepage, daughter of Marthe Dumais; her great-grandchildren; Mely-Rose, Hubert, Zacharie, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Alizee, Daphnee, Evelyn, Vincent, Nicolas and Alex. She also leaves to mourn her sister Gilberte, the youngest of the Pitre family of 9 children; her sister-in-law Joan Beaulieu, her godson Real Pitre, numerous nephews and nieces, as well as the nine children of the late Roger Dumais. Your expressions of sympathy can result in a donation to Diabete Bas-Saint-Laurent or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada of the BSL through the hostess at the salon.
