Obituary:  Syracuse Herald American (NY), 27 July 1975:  Edward W. Peters, 67,  resident of 170 West Sixth St. died unexpectedly Friday afternoon.  He was born in East Syracuse, son of the late Edward and Mary Peters.  Mr. Peters had resided in Oswego for the past 50 years.  He had been employed by the New York Central and Penn Central Railroads for about 25 years and retired as brakeman about five years ago.  He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.  Surviving with his wife, Helen Mary Bushie Peters, Oswego, are a son, Edward W. Peters, Jr., two grandchildren, of Oswego, and five sisters, Mrs. Marian Devereaux, Syracuse; Mrs. Dorothy DeStaffano, Solvay; Mrs. Anna Mae Henderson, Mrs. Helen Morton and Miss Margaret Schwartz, all of Oswego.  Funeral services will be held from the P. J. Cullinan's Sons Funeral Home, Monday, at 8:30 a.m. and at St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday between the hours of 2 and 4.

Edward William Peters:  Nelson Funeral Home (Oswego, NY):  Edward W. Peters Jr.,83, of Oswego, passed on March 6, 2023.  Born and raised in Oswego, Edward was the son of the late Edward W. Sr. and Helen (Bushie) Peters.  Edward was a graduate of Oswego High School.  He was employed for Columbia Mills for many years and then was employed by and retired from SUNY Oswego after more than18 years.  He was a proud member of the US National Guard.  Ed enjoyed being an usher for St. Joseph’s Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.  He was also an avid NY Giants fan.  Ed loved his family and time spent with them, and he was a caring friend.  He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Elizabeth (Talamo) Peters, and sons Mike Peters of New Haven and Gary (Jennifer) Peters of Minetto, as well as three beloved grandchildren Rusty, Abigail, and Lillian, and several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 3-5 pm at Nelson Funeral Home.  A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Ten O’Clock on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Minetto.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
