Mable Marie Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet, 16 May 2007: Mable Pitre Malbrough, 88, a native of Montegut and resident of Chauvin, died at 5:15 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial in Dugas Cemetery in Montegut. She is survived by three sons, Gerald Blanchard and wife, Beatrice, Cyrus Blanchard and companion, Terry, and Donald P. Malbrough; three daughters, Pat Sampey and husband, Whitney Sr., Juanita "Poochie" Malbrough and Cecile Neil; 23 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Malbrough; her parents, Ellis and Ernestine Cunningham Pitre; three daughters, Nancy Lee Blanchard and two infant daughters; two grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Genevieve Blanchard Turner; one son-in-law, Cleveland "Flapps" Neil; and two sisters, Bessie Pitre Domangue and Viola Pitre. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Dugas Cemetery. She is survived by four sons, Leroy Gilling, Kenneth Pitre of Chauvin, Darrell Pitre of Fort Lauderdale and Tony Lapeyrouse of Houma; one daughter, Rita Ward of Houma; one sister, Mabel Pitre Malbrough of Chauvin; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Random Pitre and Ernestine Cunningham Pitre; two grandchildren, Mickey Joseph Guidry and Tina Marie Guidry; one great-granddaughter, Haley Nicole; and one sister, Bessie Pitre. She was a homemaker and parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
