Ogdensburg Republican Journal, Wednesday, 5 August 1925:  Hopkinton, Aug. 4 - A quiet wedding took place Saturday, July 25, at St. Andrew's Catholic church in Norwood when Mabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Peet, became the bride of Amos Defour of Norwood.  The ceremony was performed by their pastor, Rev. Father Roche.  The bride was attended by her friend Miss Dumont and the groom by Wilfred Peet, brother of the bride.  After the ceremony the wedding party motored to Hopkinton where they partook of a wedding dinner at the home of Henry Peet, uncle of the bride.  The newly-weds then took the afternoon train for Lake Placid.  After a short wedding trip they will reside in Norwood.  Mrs. Defour was a former Hopkinton girl and has the best wishes of a host of friends here.  Henry Peet and his sister Mrs. Gilbert Currier attended the wedding of their niece at Norwood Saturday, July 25.

Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Thursday, 1 November 1951:  Wife of Henry Ellis, 63, Dies.  Carthage Woman, long ill, Succumbs in Hospital - Rites Saturday.  Carthage, Nov. 1 - Mrs. Sadie Mary Ellis, 63, wife of Henry B. Ellis, 837 Alexandria street, died Tuesday morning at 6 at Community hospital, following a long illness.  She underwent a major operation in February and had been hospitalized twice since then.  Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. James church, Rev. William J. Deacy, O. S. A., officiating.  Burial will be at the new St. James cemetery.  Mrs. Ellis was born in Hopkinton Sept. 2, 1888, the daughter of Adolphus and Mary Votra Pealo, and attended Hopkinton schools.  She was married to Edward Peets in 1903 in the Roman Catholic church at Hopkinton.  Mr. Peets died in August, 1943.  In December, 1943, she was married to Henry B. Ellis at St. James church, Carthage.  She had resided at Carthage since 1928.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Johnson, Carthage, and Mrs. Gordon Otis, Lynn, Mass.; one son, Wilfred L. Peets, Effingham, N.H.; two brothers, Henry Pealo of Oswego and Joseph Pealo, Potsdam; and nine grandchildren.

Rachel Peets:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Friday, 6 January 1978:  Carthage - Mrs. Rachel Johnson, 61, wife of Clyde Johnson, 222 State St., died Thursday morning in Carthage Area Hospital.  The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McGraw Funeral Home, Rev. Hugh J. Connaghan, OSA, assistant pastor at St. James Catholic Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Calling hours are this afternoon and evening with the Rosary recited at 8 p.m.  Surviving besides her husband are six sons, Valence Peets, Carthage, Nolan Johnson, Watertown, and Gaylord Johnson, Dale Johnson, Wayne Johnson and Randy Johnson, all of Carthage; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Scougal, Carthage; 15 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilfred Peets, Wolfboro, N.H.  A sister, Mrs. Mabel Otis died in California in June 1977.  Born Jan. 25, 1916 at Hopkinton, daughter of Edward and Sadie Peets, she moved to Carthage with her family as a child and attended local schools.  She was married to Clyde Johnson Dec. 8, 1936, at Carthage.  She had been employed at the Deferiet mill of the St. Regis Paper Company during World War II and later as a sorter at Braman Manufacturing Company.  She retired in 1950 due to poor health.
