Obituary: Union Leader (Manchester, NH), Tuesday, 21 April 1970: Eli H. Peat, 69, of 959 Hanover St. died Tuesday morning at his home after a short illness. He was born in Little Fargo, N.D., the son of Frank E. and Eveline (Guimond) Peat and had resided in Manchester most of his life. Mr. Peat was an attendant of St. Augustine Church. He was employed by Kal-Wall Inc., for the past three years. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Albert A. (Charron) Peat of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Pauline) Labbee of Peterborough, and Mrs. Ardell D. (Elaine) Worchel of Selma, Ala.; seven grandchildren: Randall F. Peat of Falmouth, Mass., Francis Labbee, Russell Labbee, Lynn Anne Labbee, all of Peterborough, Harlan Worchel, Mark Worchel, Susan Marie Worchel of Selma, Ala., and nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home. Visiting hours are tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem high mass will be sung Thursday morning in St. Augustine Church at 10. Burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Elaine Rita Peat: Bennett Funeral Home: Concord, NH - Elaine Rita Worchel, (88) of Concord, New Hampshire passed away Wednesday May 10, 2023. She was born in Manchester, NH on March 10, 1935, the daughter of Eli and Alberta (Charron) Peat. Elaine graduated from St. Joseph High School, class of 1953. Upon graduation she went to work for New England Tel & Tel in the Traffic Engineering Department. After her marriage to her Air Force husband she lived in many states and in the Philippine Islands. The many friends she met in the different area of the country and the P. I. brought her much happiness. Her family includes her husband; Ardell Worchel, a son; Mark of Woodstock, CT, a daughter; Susan Stencavage of Hooksett, NH, a sister; Pauline Labbe of Manchester, NH, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her sons Harlan and Dennis and her brother Armand. From an early age, she was an avid roller and dance and figure skater and later enjoyed ice skating, cross country skiing, hiking and also touring the countryside on snowshoes. In 1968 she began oil painting while living on Long Island, New York and continued to paint throughout her life. Her artwork brought her much pleasure as well as earning awards for it along the way. She participated in many art shows throughout Northern New England. Living in Lyman, NH afforded her numerous scenes of the White Mountains and the Franconia and Crawford Notches. She also had a love of painting the Maine Coastal scenes as well as Vermont & NH sugarhouses and covered bridges. She earned a following for acrylic paintings in miniature as well. Contributions in Elaine’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN. There will be no calling hours at Elaine’s request. A Mass for Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, Concord, New Hampshire on Friday May 19, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, New Hampshire on Friday May 19, 2023 at 12:30 pm. Bennett Funeral Home, Concord, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
