Kenneth Michael Pitre:  Kenneth Michael Pitre.  July 2, 1941 - February 3, 2021.  Biloxi, Mississippi - Kenneth Michael Pitre, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021, after a long five-week battle with Covid-19 and its complications.  'Mike', as he was affectionately known, was born in Cut Off, Louisiana but spent many years in Houma, Louisiana.  Fifteen years ago, he moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast with his wife of 52 years, Susan Pitre (where they made fast friends with their warm hearts and good cheer).  Mike and Susan will best be remembered for entertaining and feeding family and friends with delicious Cajun and French-Creole cuisine.  Some of Mike's other life joys included fishing and crabbing, watching LSU football and baseball, and cheering for his favorite pro sports team, the New Orleans Saints.  Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Blanchard Pitre, his parents, Edless Pitre and Winnie Toups, his firstborn son, Michael "Little Mike" Pitre, his brother, Raymond Pitre and other dear family members.  Mike was truly a "jack of all trades" in the community holding jobs as a produce manager, mechanic, insulation installer, and he worked 14+ years in the Louisiana School Board System in various capacities.  Mike also served honorably in the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Riley Kansas from 1964-1965 with his loving wife Susan.  He is survived by his three children, Denise and husband, Richard Russell of Thompson's Station TN, David and wife, Dr. Laurie Aycock Pitre of Biloxi MS and Dawn and husband, Damon Riche of Columbia TN.  He was also a proud grandfather lovingly nicknamed "Poppy" by his grandchildren Madeline and Sophia Pitre on the MS Gulf Coast and known as "Paw Paw" by his other four grandchildren currently in Tennessee: Jeremy and Zachary Riche and Torrey and Kristen Russell.  Mike Pitre's final resting place will be alongside his wife Susan at Biloxi National Cemetery.  A graveside service with military honors will be held for family only with burial flag presentation.  Additionally, a virtual celebration of life gathering will be held for family and friends in honor of Mike's memory.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on behalf of the family to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
