Obituary:  Eugene Joseph Pitre, 93, a native and resident of Galliano, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, LA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his son, Carol Pitre (Mary); daughter, Lenette Pitre; daughter-in-law, Patty Pitre; sister, Ophelia Lefort; grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Mary, Chase and Misty; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes Prejean Pitre; son, Len Pitre; parents, Elfer and Romella Lafont Pitre; brother, Dudley Pitre; sister, Adeline Pitre and grandchild, Marc.  Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet:  Mercedes Prejean Pitre, 80, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 10:41 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Cut Off.  A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Monday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Galliano.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene Pitre; one son, Carol Pitre and wife, Mary; one daughter, Lenette Pitre Angeron; one daughter-in-law, Patsy Pitre; five grandchildren, Ryan Pitre (Angie), Melissa Angeron Toups (Rene), Mary Angeron Bouvier (Ferle), Chase Pitre (Lillian), and Misty Pitre Richoux(Ryan); and nine great-grandchildren, Chris Billiot (Kim), Stephen Guidry, Trey Arceneaux (Jaime), Arden Arceneaux, Ruston Toups, Renee Toups, Drake Winkler, Leia Pitre and Dax Pitre.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Prejean; one son, Len Pitre; two brothers, Donald and Carol Prejean; one grandchild, Marc Pitre; and two great-great-grandchildren, Amelie and Elise Arceneaux.  She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.  Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Len Joseph Pitre:  Sun Herald (Biloxi, MS), Monday, 25 July 2011:  Mr. Len Joseph Pitre, 64, of Waynesboro, MS, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, in Biloxi.  Mr. Pitre was born in Galliano, LA and was a graduate of Nicholls State University.  He was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam and a Catholic.  Len was a self-employed engineer after he retired from UNOCAl Oil Corporation with 32 years of service.  He was currently serving as president of the board at Chateau LeGrande Condominiums, 1130 Beach Blvd. in Biloxi where he had a second home.  Len was preceded in death by his son, Mark Pitre.  He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Patsy "Patty" Jones Pitre; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Angie Pitre; parents Eugene and Mercedes Pitre; sister, Lenette Pitre; brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Mary Pitre; grandsons, Stephen Pitre and Chris Guidry; three nieces and one nephew; four great-nieces and two great-nephews.  Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2011, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time.  Interment will be Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Gailleno, LA.
