Death Notice: Pasadena Independent (Pasadena, CA), Wednesday, 24 November 1965: A 79-year-old former Pasadena school crossing guard's trip to buy a little girl candy ended tragically Tuesday night when he was struck by at least one auto and killed instantly. Dead of skull and other injuries is Eugene F. Peters of 1066 N. Los Robles Ave. He had retired last June as a crossing guard at Jackson and Los Robles. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mizepah Peters. Police officer Stanley Hrstich reported that Peters and seven-year-old Caroline Jeanne Jessup were walking west in the crosswalk at Jackson Street and Los Robles at about 7:50 p.m. Caroline was skipping across the street some 10 feet ahead of Peters as they walked to a nearby market to buy candy for the girl. A car driven south on Los Robles by Wendy Robin Weir, 17, swerved to the left to avoid Peters and a second car to the right of the Weir vehicle and driven by Weon H. Burrows, 19, of 985 Alta Pine, Altadena, struck Jessup. Neither driver was cited.

Obituary: Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN), Monday, 8 July 1996: Mizpah 'Lou' Felice, a patient at St. Anthony's Healthcare Center, died there at 4:40 p.m. Friday, July 5. She had been a patient there since Feb. 22, 1994. She was a former resident of Avon Park, Fla., and Monticello. Mrs. Felice was born Dec. 6, 1909, in Harrietta, Mich. Her first marriage was to Bernard A, Ward Sr., in Detroit, in 1925. He died in 1972. She was married to Lewis Felice in Detroit. He died in 1967. She attended school in Detroit, and was a self-employed dressmaker and tailor, retiring in 1987. Surviving are three daughters, Marjorie Lozon of Avon Park, Fla., Lois Rebb of Westland, Mich., and Joan Nash of Monticello; a son, Bernard Ward Jr. of Kelden, Mich.; and two sisters, Mildred McGrath of Big Rapids, Mich., and Mary Bea Williams of Southgate, Mich.
