1980: Rita (Lul) Lafont Pitre, 69, a native and resident of
Galliano, LA, died 1:30 p.m. Friday in Galliano, LA. The funeral was 1:30
p.m. yesterday, from Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., with religious services
following 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, La. Burial was
in the Cheramie Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs.
Maryilyn Sumrall, Lola M. Brown and Daisy N. Griffin; two brothers,
Nocess and Howell Lafont; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elie D. Pitre; two brothers,
Loveless Lafont and Romala Pitre; and two sisters, Marie Lafont and Anita
Danos. Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., Galliano, La., is handling
arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Rita Lafont Pitre. She was buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Cut Off. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
