Pitre of Galliano, La., on Wednesday, September 1, 1971, at 3:25 o'clock p.m.; beloved husband of Rita Lafont Pitre; father of Mrs. Marilyn Sumrall, Mrs. Daisy Griffin and Mrs. Lola Brown; brother of Mrs. Joseph Cheramie, Mrs. Sophie Pitre, Elfer and Elphege Pitre, Mrs. Elie Pitre, Miss Daisy Pitre, Mrs. Ticia Cheramie and Mrs. Louisa Hebert; survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; age 76 years; a native and a resident of Galliano, La.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Falgout Funeral Home Inc., Galliano, La., on Friday, September 3, 1971, at 8:30 o'clock a.m.  Religious services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Galliano, La., at 9 a.m.  Interment in Cheramie Cemetery, Galliano, La.  Falgout Funeral Home Inc., Galliano, La. in charge.

Obituary:  Houma Courier (LA), Sunday, June 15, 1980:  Rita (Lul) Lafont Pitre, 69, a native and resident of Galliano, LA, died 1:30 p.m. Friday in Galliano, LA.  The funeral was 1:30 p.m. yesterday, from Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., with religious services following 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, La.  Burial was in the Cheramie Cemetery.  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Maryilyn Sumrall, Lola M. Brown and Daisy N. Griffin; two brothers, Nocess and Howell Lafont; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Elie D. Pitre; two brothers, Loveless Lafont and Romala Pitre; and two sisters, Marie Lafont and Anita Danos.  Falgout Funeral Home, Inc., Galliano, La., is handling arrangements.

Marilyn Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Thursday, December 11, 2008:  Marilyn Pitre Sumrall, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Sunday, December 7.  She is survived by two sons, Bobby Rousse and wife Kathy and Richie Sumrall and wife Irmala; one daughter, Susan "Pixie" Gouaux and husband Phillip; two sisters, Daisy Griffin and husband Gus and Lola Brown and husband Francis; 11 grandchildren, Peter Rousse, Wade Rousse, Dionne O'Brien, Andrea Gouaux, Jeanee Freeman, Aimee O'Gwynn, Laura Engemann, Louise Lawson, Mattie Gouaux, Anastasia Sumrall and Darius Sumrall; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Rita Lafont Pitre.  She was buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Cut Off.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
