Obituary: Helen R. (Cahill) Peters, 87, of Whitman, passed away June 27, in Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward D. Peters. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Paul F. and Florence G. (Behm) Cahill. Helen had been a Whitman resident for many years. She worked in Boston for the Kasanofs Bakery, at the United Shoe Machinery as a mechanical inspector and also at the Bostonian Shoe Company in Whitman. She is survived by her children, Daniel Peters and his wife Shirley, Maureen E. Peters, all of Whitman, Thomas J. Peters and his wife Kyle of Brockton and Eileen Gliniewicz and her husband Paul of Abington; her brothers, Paul Cahill of Maryland, Duncan Cahill of East Bridgewater, Donald Cahill of Florida; and her sister, Cathleen Donnelly of Halifax; also eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Edward F. Peters. Her services will be held Monday July 2, at 8:15 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, at 12:45 p.m. Her visitation will be Sunday, July 1, from 2-6 p.m. Donations in her name may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of American, New York, NY.
