Obituary:  State Times Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Monday, 1 December 1947 - Opelousas, Dec. 1 - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Albert Pitre, 59, who died suddenly at his home in Prairie Ronde Friday.  Father Clifford Gaudin officiated at services at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic church in Opelousas and burial was in the Opelousas Catholic cemetery with Laford and Son in charge.  Mr. Pitre was a veteran of the first war.  Members of the Opelousas American Legion and VFW posts, with which he was affiliated, read their rituals at the grave.  The deceased was a native of Prairie Ronde and operated a store in that St. Landry community.  Surviving are his wife, Clara Ledoux of Prairie Ronde: three brothers and one sister, Jules and Leo Pitre of Opelousas; Walter Pitre and Mrs. Edgar Prudhomme of Lawtell.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 7 May 1979:  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas for Mrs. Albert Pitre, the former Clara Ledoux, 75, of Opelousas, who died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Opelousas General Hospital following a long illness.  Burial will be in the St. Landry Catholic Cemetery.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Highway in Opelousas is in charge of the arrangements.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Her survivors include two brothers, Harris and Emmett Ledoux, both of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Furdy (Wilda) Lafleur and Marie Ledoux, both of Opelousas.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Pitre.
