Obituary: The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Sunday, 18 April 1993: Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 1993, for Mr. Dallas Pitre, 73, with burial following in the M. B. Fontenot Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home. Mr. Pitre, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 10:56 p.m. Friday, April 16, at the V. A. Hospital in Alexandria, after a long illness. Mr. Pitre was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lou F. Pitre of Ville Platte; six sons, Felix Pitre of Lafayette, Richard Pitre of Alexandria, Va., Dallas Pitre, Jr., Louis Pitre, Eric Pitre and David Pitre, all of Ville Platte; seven sisters, Mary Elta Pitre, Opelousas, Mazel Arnould of Lafayette, Berta Andrews of Willis, Texas, Mattie Pardou of Shreveport, Annie Nelson, Jackson, Miss., Doris SansSaoucie of Lafayette and Joycelyn Maddux of Lafayette; and 11 grandchildren.

Obituary: Ardoin’s Funeral Home (Ville Platte, LA): Lou Ella Pitre, 97, of Lafayette, LA, sadly left us on Sunday, February 11, 2024, following rapidly declining heart failure. She was a dear mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She spent her life pouring herself out for others. She was very loved and is greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Adeol Fuselier, mother, Leontine Fuselier, nee Manual, brother Lee, husband Dallas, daughter Alida, and son Louis. She leaves behind her sons, Felix, Richard, Dallas, Eric, and David; grandchildren Julia, Anissa, Andrew, Joshua, Heather, Haley, Douglass, Alida, Erica, Shawn, Kevin, Jessica, Jonathan, Gabriel, Benjamin, Katherine, and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in her honor at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, February 15, 2024, beginning at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 8:00 AM until time of service. Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dallas Pitre: Ardoin's Funeral Home (Ville Platte, LA): Dallas Pitre, Jr., August 16, 1957 - October 7, 2025: Dallas Pitre, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on Friday, August 16, 1957, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Dallas was well known for his dedication to his family and his unwavering work ethic as a machinist. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Services will be conducted by Dallas’s cousin, Fr. John Pardue. Dallas cherished the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, reveling in the beauty of nature, and taking pleasure in hearing the birds sing, along with deer and squirrel hunting. His connection to the world around him provided him with a sense of peace that was evident in the life he led. Dallas was a hard worker and a good provider who always ensured that his family had everything they needed. He found great joy in seeing to it that his family was happy, channeling his love into caring for his daughters, Heather Briley (Shane), Haley Pitre Leger (Derek), and Alida Pitre; and his son, Douglas Pitre. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren, including Kristen Briley, Joshua Cole Briley, Savannah Fontenot, Isaac Fontenot, Newly Fontenot, Harleigh Leger, and Christian Guillory, whom he adored and often spoiled. He is also survived by his brothers, Felix, Richard, Eric, and David Pitre who Dallas enjoyed spending time with fondly remembering their childhood. Dallas was predeceased by his parents, Dallas Pitre, Sr. and Lou Ella Fuselier Pitre; as well as his sister, Alida Marie Pitre, and brother, Louis Pitre. For those wishing to pay their respects, visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte, followed by a Rosary at 10:15 AM. Dallas Pitre, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
