Misc.:  There is a birth listed in South Louisiana Records for a Marie Sereza Pitre (David & Lezida Scott) b. 31 Jan. 1896 (Larose Ch.: v. 2, p. 186; SLR, vol. 10).  She might be the daughter of David Joseph Pitre.  Marie Sereza Pitre had a daughter Lorenza Pitre (4 February 1913 Galliano, LA - 27 December 2003 Golden Meadow, LA) who married Edward Joseph Rebstock.  Marie Sereza Pitre married Armand Joseph Brunet (5 June 1915 Thibodaux, LA).  Lorenza Pitre Rebstock's obituary mentions only her Brunet siblings and her mother Ceresa Pitre Brunet.

Lorenza Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Lorenza Pitre Theriot, 86, a native and resident of Galliano, who died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12 (1993).  Visitation will be until Funeral time today at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.  She was the wife of Fedalise Theriot; mother of Leon J. and Fedalise "Toot" Theriot Jr. and Lynn Theriot Duet; sister of Rosalie Gisclair.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Julie P. Pitre; a daughter, Orvella Theriot; a brother, Caffery Pitre; and four sisters, Frazier and Bea Pitre and Virges and Rose Danos.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.

Eve Euphrasie & Vernice Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 8 November 1947: summation of article re deadly tornado: Galliano, 7 November: 2 dead and 1 missing in tiny Bayou Lafourche village. Two sisters were killed immediately as they were lifted from a house by the wind and carried several hundred feet away. They were Mrs. Henry Danos, 29, mother of three children, and Miss Eulalie Pitre, 38, who was spending the night in Mrs. Danos' home........Those who lost homes were Mrs. David Pitre, Edville Kiff, Edwin Charpentier, Roy Barrios, Sidney Plaisance, Henry Danos, Mrs. Anna Potter, Whitney Hebert, Mrs. Elsie Ducros, Luben Mire and Gilbert Pitre.......Funeral services for Mrs. Danos and Miss Pitre were scheduled to be held in Galliano today with religious rites at St. Joseph church and interment in Cherami cemetery. Their bodies were taken to the Chauvin and Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux.

This story was picked up by many national papers including the Sheboygan, Wisconsin Press 8 November 1947:  The dead were identified as Mrs. Henry Danos, 23, Bayou Lafourche; Miss Frazie Pitre, 41, Mrs. Danos' sister......
