Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Monday, 16 January 1989: Dewey Andre Pitre, 72, a native and a resident of Raceland, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Raceland. Funeral arrangements were incomplete by 9 a.m. today. Visitation will begin today at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jane Leger Pitre; a son, Lloyd Pitre; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Pamela) Cancienne and Mrs. Ricky (Denise) Chiasson; a brother, Malvin Pitre; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Foret and Mrs. Jessie (Rena) LeBlanc; a step-sister, Mrs. Gladys Marcel; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Pitre and Mrs. Alice Legendre; a step-father, Walter Legendre; a brother, Nolan Pitre; and a sister, Viola Pertuit. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
