Obituary:  Following an illness of six months, Charles Pitre, well-known and esteemed resident of East Cornwall, died at his home, 512 First street East, at 3 o'clock this morning.  Mr. Pitre had been a resident of Cornwall for 40 years, coming here from Embrun, Ont., where he was born 52 years and two months ago, a son of Ovide Pitre.  For many years Mr. Pitre was employed as a weaver in Canada Mill, but was compelled to cease work six months ago on account of ill health.  He had been seriously ill for three weeks.  Besides his wife, the former Miss Bert Provost, of Cornwall, he leaves his aged father, Ovide Pitre, now 85 years old, who lives with a daughter, Mrs. Sauvi, Megantic, Que.; two sons and a daughter - Rodolphe Pitre, Melvin Pitre and Miss Laurentienne Pitre, all at home; four brothers and four sisters - Donat Pitre, Ernest Pitre, Telesphore Pitre, Elzear Pitre, Miss Alexina Pitre and Mrs. Joseph Gosselin, all in Cornwall; Mrs. Leon LeBlanc and Mrs. Joseph Sauvi, Megantic, Que.  The funeral will be held Wednesday morning, leaving his home, 512 First street East, at 8:45 o'clock, for Nativity Church and cemetery.

Rodolphe Pitre:  Pitre, Rodolphe - At the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Sunday, January 21, 2001.  Rodolphe Roland Pitre (Organist for the past 50 years at Nativity Co-Cathedral) of 1701 Princess Street; age 84 years.  Beloved husband of Margaret Pitre and by a previous marriage to the late Therese Lamirande.  Dear father of Constance (Mrs. Daniel Meilleur) of Montreal, Quebec, Jacques Pitre and Dominique (Mrs. Andre Leger) both of Cornwall.  Predeceased by one daughter, Manon Pitre.  Loving grandfather of Annielle and Gabriel Meilleur, Julien and Mireille Leger.  Dear son of the late Charles Pitre and the late Bertha Provost.  Dear brother of Mrs. Laurance Andrews of Cornwall.  Predeceased by one brother, Melvin Pitre.  Resting at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes from 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Funeral Wednesday, January 24, 2001 for Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Co-Cathedral at 11 a.m.  Spring interment, Nativity Cemetery.  The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of funeral on Wednesday.  As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Palliative Care unit, Hotel Dieu Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Laurance Gabrielle Pitre:  Andrews, Laurance - Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.  Mrs. Laurance (Pitre) Andrews of Cornwall, Ontario, age 88 years.  Beloved wife of the late Vincent C. Andrews.  Dear mother of Charles Pitre (Judith) of Yellowknife, NWT.  Dear grandmother of Stephane, Renee, Nathan, Rebecca, Caitlin, Isabelle, Grant and Tyral and great-grandmother of Samuel and Philip.  Dear daughter of the late Charles Ovide Pitre and the late Bertha (Provost) Pitre.  Predeceased by two brothers, Rodolphe and Melvin Pitre.  Survived by her nieces and nephews, Constance Meilleur (Daniel), Jacques Pitre (Joanne), Dominique Leger (Andre) and Christopher Pitre (Deborah).  Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch.  Funeral on Feb. 23 for Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home.  Spring Interment, Nativity Parish Cemetery.
